Kuddos to John Gonzalez though, find his interview about making the narrative of the story… after the concept was already well entirely developed. He had the titanic task to superimpose a narrative that would explain all the elements of the game already created. They made changes afterwards based on his recommendations, but the bare bones did not change: the dinosaur robots, the tribes, the Metal World of the Ancients… That is such a brilliant idea, beautiful story on top of that, not just half baked. And with this, so much of possibilities for the future as well. So now Horizon seems to become a trilogy, cannot wait to see where the mind of this brilliant man brings us!
My question is what were the purpose of each robot in the game?
The game explains itself you useless fuck
The best world ending story I've seen. These reveations were chilling. I wish I could forget it, and play it again!
For me, the Gaia system must be destroyed. Human history must be erased and start again.
One of my all time favourite games, can't wait for the next one !!
This would have been a incredible movie or tv series, story is A+
I love the concept of getting back the life. Is it possible to create same for other planets? maybe mars
Did they explain why they can't just nuke the robots over and over?
This is one of the best renditions of the hero's journey / messiah-type stories I have ever seen. They literally found a scientific explanation for having a messiah.
At the end of the machine civilization, mankind was at least super lucky. There was another person trying to the heaviest responsibility for what the most irresponsible person did mess around the world. General Herres and Elizabeth. Sobeck.
I remember watching this nearly 5 years ago, about the truth of what this world was. My jaw hit the floor. I knew that this was a post apocalypses world, sure, but normally these stories are told by those who "survived" in shelters. Not this world. Such a creative take on the end of all life and how to preserve it.
It was the moment that all my fears about the game being mediocre vanished. And the thought of what else the world had to show me filled me with joy.
This would make for a very good TV series.
I think Demeter is the one who is getting a bit villainous in Forbidden West, as Demeter is the one responsible with plants and floral life, thus the red blight. This time i think for a twist Demeter is actually being used by a higher power, just to help get rid of all people in the forbidden west, for some purpose, Sylens is helping because, he is promised more knowledge, in exchange for his help.
I’ve been replaying the game the last 2 weeks or so, I’m at the last mission so I’m going to focus on side quests and maybe the DLC until the 17th, when I’ll complete the game and wake up the next morning ready to play Forbidden West.
So all of this is the result of a glitch? and if that glitch never happened (thus the faro Plague never happened) what do you bet aloy’s Life would’ve looked like if the faro plague never happen? 🤔💭
"Yeah, they will told us that machines are created by aliens, so generetic…"
"HOLY SHI– "
This game was ahead of its time, and still one of the best games ever.
Had to watch this again to prep for forbidden west smh
Ah yes lets build an AI to rebuild after the first AI kills us.
They look similar to the ones in the Metal Gear Solid series.
Yuh
We need battle los angeles style movie or Halo reach style game about Operation enduring Victory.
Seems fighting the Faro Plague was a no-win scenario
@0:13 Commander Zavala ??
I saw and played a lot of apocalyptic scenarios in movies and games, but this shit is dark…
The fact that Elizabeth made reference of Gaia as a seed from which life could sprout anew must be something Zo really connected with.
Woketards in the company: "yo lets make the greek goddess of nature black for muh diversity"
Honestly, this for me was along the lines of Bioshock as a lightbulb "Oh my god no way" story moment I didn't see coming. The very machines that killed us, but were also fixing the Earth, were the ones we're now killing. From seeing them all as the enemy, to almost guilt in killing them.
Is this on frozen wilds? Or just the original horizon zero
I remember the schock when I saw this for the first time, I can only imagine the terror of those humans hearing those terrible news
I just finished the game for the first time 2 weeks ago, this was amazing.
Nemisis sent the signal, it wasn’t the zeniths.
One of the best stories in gaming. Between this and the holographic board meeting scene some of the greatest revelations of the game were revealed.
This is why HZD is probably my favorite Sci-fi story ever. I never saw that plot twist coming and it made so much sense. The hints were there from the beginning
notice how we are seeing the locations of eleuthia and also the source of the robot outbreak and facilities nearby – the third game location? South East Asia as location for third game?
Elisabeth And Herres came up with an actual plan of preservation rather than survival. They weren’t given any other options. And all because of self entitled little twat who believed himself to be second Jesus who stole the knowledge of humanity because he did not want to be remembered as the biggest fuck up of all time. Faro was an idiot
One of the best scenes and best plots I've seen in a LONG LONG LONG Time! You really felt the gravity and hopelessness of the situation, and felt the need to succeed no matter what the cost. Bravo to the writers of this game!
Came back, play some horizon zero, because I was stuck I quit. That was 3 years ago, but now that I see this scene again, work is undone must be complete.
The bad news of the soundtrack haunts me. When the woman starts talking my eyes tear for hope
This story was so impactful especially since we've seen almost nothing like it
So you could wait it out then.
