I'm super surprised they changed the song so much from Japanese and English. The visuals of Yuna's duet with Lenne were much more powerful. Still a wonderful song in both languages: the translation is very good. But still, I wonder why it was changed so?
I'm really happy that square decided to create a part 2 of Final fantasy 10 = I'm happy that at the end Yuna got her happy ending… The ending of Ff10 is just way too sad and heart breaking
I remember watching both versions as a kid and thinking, "man this is the first time I prefer dubs over subs." And watching it more than 10 years later, I still agree. Koda's voice is way too deep for Yuna's or Lenne's voice. The lip syncing is somehow worse than the English version. The audio mixing here sounds very muddled and doesn't have the crescendos of the English version. And then the song just abruptly ends with no fanfare. It's not even nostalgia for me because I never got far enough in the game to watch this in English first.
Hell, somehow even the CGI looks worse in the Japanese version.
I just noticed this, but in the English version, the lips are synced to English, but in this version, the mouth movements are Japanese. That's dedication to detail!
I wonder why they didn’t do the split with adlibs in the Japanese version… would add more depth to it imo. Especially with how good Koda Kumi’s vocals are.

Did they change Yunas Japanese voice from ffx sounds completely different. I mean I guess you can say Lenne is singing and not Yuna due to how the dresspheres work.

English version is a significant upgrade visually imho. I feel blessed for getting to experience that one playing this so long ago.

I do like koda kumi but years later I still think the same thing Utada Hikaru or someone else’s voice would of fit better for Yuna/Lenne

The international version is better for the scene but the lighting in the Japanese version is 1000000% better.

I've never seen the Japanese version of Final Fantasy X-2 so I didn't know that there's no duet part with Yuna and Lenne in that version.
