  1. Look at Evan doing so well on the final exams on memory alone. Nice.

56:44 Why would you say something so controversial and yet so true?

  2. You're right, Yoshizawa's idea is ridiculous. Not only would it never get to the point that everyone depends on a single group of unknown people, but none of our targets have been people that their victims could just "deal with themselves." without resorting to, like, murder.

  3. Look. School is supposed to introduce you to as many things as possible, while college takes what you want to know for your life and hones your skills with them.

  4. The reason why Akechi sounds so different in the Kasumi scene is because this was a new event added for Royal, so the voice acting was recorded several years after the original game.

  5. 7 Deadly Sins on Persona 5:
    1. Kamoshida = Lust ( Complete )
    2. Madarame = Vanity ( Complete )
    3. Kaneshiro = Gluttony ( Complete )

Oh boi! Evan is so close to finishing Ryuji’s confidant. Will Ryuji be the first confidant he will complete?

  6. I… definitely wouldn't have recommended studying with the Phantom Thieves, cause while it does give knowledge and blue Confidant music notes, there are plenty of non-time-consuming ways to get knowledge, and if you want to spend time getting more Confidant points with the Phantom Thieves, Darts and Billiards are much more efficient, since you get another bonus (Baton Pass for the former, Technical for the latter) alongside it

(Also, interesting how you didn't even check to see who else was available when you chose to study with Ryuji, since Akechi wanted to hang out too)

  7. Btw just so you know when you max out your intelligence stat you can just choose random questions on exams and still be top of your class

  8. oh wow, I didn't know in Royal it actually tells you that Sojiro is blocked by events…it didn't do that in vanilla IIRC

  9. I feel like your arguments against what Kasumi said are kinda missing the point and lack the long-term view that she was bringing up.

You said that there's no way society would rely entirely on the phantom thieves to solve their problems… Except that the phantom thieves propose something that normal society does not: a form of Justice. In a world where scumbags roam free and do whatever they want without any consequences, having the Phantom Thieves forcefully deliver justice on them gives hope to people. Sure, not many people believes in the phantom Thieves…. YET, but as they target more people in the future, people will be forced to acknowledge their existence sooner or latter.
Especially with the case of Kaneshiro, which the police couldn't catch; society will trust more the Phantom Thieves than the police to bring criminal to justice; and after a few more big targets, it can really turn into the scenario Kasumi spoke of: that people's distrust toward the system will be at its peak, and they'll just rely entirely on the Phantom Thieves to bring justice and solve their problems, without thinking about tackling them on themselves (Evan, you could've picked a better exemple than what you used, you're cherry picking with that one).

  10. "He has a very punchable face. In a good way."

There's a good way of punching someone in the face?

  11. During the base game the Phantom Thieves basically using brainwashing was never addressed. So in Royal there is a lot more scenes explaining that they knew about and what they thought about, along with arguing why they are just.

  12. Side note: can you imagine how much trouble Joker would be in if his teachers found out he'd been bringing a cat to school for months

  13. About the knowledge reading when you went to study with ryuji: theoretically, it works on the crossword puzzle too, so next time you see a crossword, maybe get the knowledge reading first if it‘s awailable, then do the crossword for 2 notes instead of 1 ;D
(Then combine it with another knowledge activity to max out the efficiency of the reading)

  14. Before you learn it the worst way posible, some skills are needed for your friend to be on the team

Also, give up on the Ryuji x Pixel that relationship is never… Gonna be close to the relationship of Phoenix x Edgeworth

  15. This is very nitpicky lol but you could have done the Fortune reading with Chihaya before doing that crossword puzzle to get extra Knowledge from both the crossword puzzle and studying with Ryuji that one evening.

  16. The card that the fortune teller draws at 24:12, the High Priestess, can be interpreted as with these keywords (when upright): Intuition, depth, and knowledge. Totally unneeded definition, but I thought it would be interesting because it correlated.

  17. I know you will probably look it up Evan, but "The Verification Test" is basically you hanging out with Chihaya (Fortune Teller) to work on your rank up with her.

As for what Kasumi said in regards to the Phantom Thieves I understand her mindset because she is thinking about the Phantom Thieves helping with something that is out of the ordinary not just something as simple as "going to work" like you made an example of. I can see you were thinking of people being so lazy to not even want to do anything for themselves and only rely on Phantom Thieves for everything, but I don't think that is the point she was getting at.

As Jose would say "Good Job!" honk horn with the Exam! 👍 Looking forward to seeing what is going to happen next time now that the Exams are done in terms of story bits.

  18. I thought the Kaneshiro's "confession" being very underwhelming as well & I think that was the case for everyone. But at the same time I understand that since he went to the police directly there wasn't going to be a reason for the police to record him confessing or anything. I suppose at most they could've had a scene of him confessing, but only the player would see that so I don't think it would have any meaning behind it.

  19. 34:30 Pronouncin the "j" as a "y" is pretty common in some languages, actually. I teach Latin, so that's the one I'm familiar with, but there are modern languages that pronounce the j that way, especially in northern Europe. On the other hand, Japan is in fact not in northern Europe.

  20. I mean not to get too political but don’t many people already seek to have someone else solve their problems except instead of an unknown group of teenagers it’s elected representatives and government officials? Only thing is you know…….the unknown group of teenagers actually solves those problems

  21. "Verification test" is Chihaya testing MC's ability to change fate, i.e. how you advance her Confidant.

  22. I love the interaction between Joker, Akechi, and Kasumi. I think the contrast between the characters' perspectives is interesting, especially on a second playthrough when you have more context to everything happening

  23. I still love how Ann just turns with the chalk to see if Joker dodges it.
Akechi in my opinion is a character that is more likeable closer to the end of the game. He was one that grew along the course of the story in vanilla.
Given my profession, I got that crossword immediately.
