As in the first Nier, the “language” was created using a mixture of French, German, Gaelic, Chinese, Japanese (among others). Certain songs are more influenced by certain languages, such as this one, mostly influenced by French.

It is NOT French, however. It is supposed to be a language in the future, after hundreds of years of linguistic evolution.

I tried to write down what I could hear as objectively as possible, using French pronunciation, but not focusing on using real French words. However , it is interesting that some real French words did appear and actually made sense…

Enjoy!

Lyrics:

Faute en fleur nissée
À l’ours à sans abris
Mais il’y eux contrefit
Strailuse soin, je dise

Ça roux ménagée
Est bland’ au quand j’affluie
Or des massies
Plus ça gris, mais là nous s’y est

Et s’il est un par corant
Lentenir et à dormont
Fit à lou
C’est en abris que pleure
Ta rallie
Qu’un drame saratie
Contre la souvre, la denterre

Frontière palée
À fait, non, on prends-les
Qu’on qu’à j’attrassé
Quoi punis s’amener

Prendre la seroux
S’il la fera sendre
M’y a tragiqué
Plus qu’en se, je trois gens si
Elle fuit

  1. Hello, just to tell you (yeah, 2years after), Keiichi Okabe released lyrics, but, that's not the same. This is the good one :

    Fort ton fleur, n'y sait

    A l'heure a sans abris

    Meilleur contre un fil

    Très doucement je tisse

    Sa roumaine haché

Et blanc dos, grange à fluide

    Ouvre tes mains siii

Plus ça crie, mais l'âne aussi

Et si l'ail Un peu cooon

    Mainteniiir, et en dormant

Fialou, c'est un abri que pleure coraly

    Contre ame sera tiii

Contre un ane s'ouvre le condor

    Conte, hier, balai

    A fait un nombre premier

    Homme, catcheur, draps sale

    Quoiqu'il est fané, mais

    Contre l'ane, ses roues

    Si la fleur se montre

    Mia tra-gi-que

    Plus qu'un siiinge, trois gencives

    Mais vouiiiiiiii

  2. This is what French sounds like to non-French speakers.

  3. Well, now my face is covered in salted tears of sorrow from this beautiful song😭 It's so lovely but saddening at the same time💜❤️

  4. A song without any lyrical translation is easier to empathize with and it's a good feeling.

  5. If anyone has recommendations of music that evokes the same aesthetic or emotion I’m looking for some new game music to listen to

  6. imo this is the best song in the game. It does the most to communicate the emotional message of the game's themes. It is both melancholy but also somehow carries a sense of peace, tranquility and hope. Of all the quests in the game, this one plays in the canyon after you kill machines that failed to commit suicide. The machine at the entrance tells you afterwards it prays their souls went to heaven. Afterwards 9S asks whether souls exist and 2B says that they'll find out eventually. It really captures some of the core themes and questions the story is trying to interrogate. Beautiful piece and a really great game.

  7. I thought my French is still bad after 13 years of studying it then I red the comments….

  8. The lyrics doesn't make any sense because it's chaotic language, not french
    Conclusion : lyrics are useless
