I PAYED 40$ AT THE AGE OF 8, they need some type of refund even if it’s like being able to get a free ea pack cause this is so unfair to mini me who had to save up for 2 months….
I mean, you could literally buy it for like $5 almost year round with the number of sales and everything but it's still good for getting new players

With all the FREE updates and content thats been released for the base game since its original launch, I think its fair to say the $60 you've paid in the beginning has been worth it. So its not unfair to make it free to play now. And you're even getting a free Kit (yes its only like $5, but STLL its something besides all the previous updates)
If they made the Sims 4 online – that would be just chefs KISS 😘 Interacting with other simmers, marrying other simmers, the whole 9 yards. That would be amazing.
i paid 70€ for the game on release and stopped playing after a few hours. finally came back to it this summer and now i have 300 something hours but i still cannot bring myself to care that other people get it for free. i definitely have not got my moneys worth but i don't get the point of getting pressed about other people getting to play it.
I got the base game for $5 on a sale week so I’m not hurting too bad but I can honestly understand if someone who paid $60 for what the base game STARTED as is mad 😅 TS4 was not worth $60 when it shipped

Its great that they are making it free! On the other hand the least they could do is letting the ones who paid full price get an expansion pack for free. Also if they plan to gain more players making the base game free they better renovate it cuz as a stand alone its very boring and empty.

I think the actual best thing about base game being free is that there may be a greater influx of moded worlds to the game. With a larger audience pool that doesn’t necessarily have the capital to get a bunch of DLC to make their game fun, people that make whole new worlds in mods are going to be such a goldmine. Slap those things in an ad presenting webpage or behind an ad wall and the incentive to do those large projects actually goes way higher
I was one of the people who got The Sims 4 when it was free during the summer of 2019, and now I've bought several packs (all on sale of course). Like it or not this business model does work, and like it or not, I'm glad the game is going to be accessible to more people.

Honestly, I think it's fine to give the game away for free. For people complaining they, "just bought it." Great, this doesn't concern you. You're only upset now because other people are going to get it for free and you didn't. Sure I'd love my 60 bucks back, but I made the choice to spend the money then, and it's long gone now. I'm EXTREMELY happy all the kids that have parents that won't buy them games, now get to play!! If you had "they're just pixels, play a free game instead" parents, you'll get it!!!!
I was 5 when the sims 4 came out but I did know about when I was like 7 or 8 and I think I started to play the sims 3 and I x opulent get the sims 4 so

I paid full price for the base game. I don’t care that they make it free now. Doesn’t affect me and I was happy with my purchase 7 years ago or whenever. I hope people enjoy it. Giving the kit free is awesome and unexpected.
Because I couldn't afford sims 4 for years it would be nice to be able to play without paying, although I do feel bad for people who did have to pay before the announcement
they should give ppl who spent so much money on this game a free pack then .. all that money for it to be free
