I got little triggered on that first attempt, like if you see closely the up d-pad didn’t even light up, but it still registered for some reason, and then it gave me a break because of that “near-miss” thingy. I know this is supposed to prevent button mashing but if you are that bad at it you are either going to have a terrible accuracy/score or die anyways. This is just annoying for pro players and makes it harder to play for beginners.
