I normally am not a huge sub vs dub guy, but there is a grit and edge in the Japanese dub that the English doesn't watch… Well, except for… GYOBU MASATAKA ONIWA
Headcanon: the guy at the very beginning who asks "is the war…finally over?" is none other than Nogami Gensai, who stood with the Ashina when they claimed this land.
In any other game this would just be a plot point but this single cutscene contains so much history and detail. The spear used by Gyobu and Isshin, the mikiri counter, The helmet passed down, the man fated to be a good grandfather in the most difficult of circumstances.
I would love another game in the Sekiro universe man.
It doesn't even have to take place in Ashina but it could refer back to it
Unfortunately I think Miyazaki doesn't have a true passion for making games set in Japan after FromSoftware made those Tenchu games that didn't go anywhere. I see Sekiro as the evolution of Tenchu in a more action-based and lore-driven direction.
