Objection! In DS2 the Best Spell was "Great Resonant Soul" Quick to Cast, Meaningless Damage That Can Kill Bosses In 2 Casts, The only bad thing is that it consumes souls when using it.
You are wrong about ds3. The best sorcery is actually great magic shield. Like in other titles it makes you inpervious to both physical and elemental attacks entirely(provided they hit you dead on) but, unlike previous titles, it also drastically improves your poise. When paired with any great shield(but most effectively the black iron great shield) it will turn you into an essentially unkillable tank with near infinite stamina for 30 seconds. This combo literally turns almost every boss fight into a complete joke.

Nah DS3 is definitely pestilent mist. It is potent and circumvents many dangerous enemies like the giant in the dungeon or any of the mimics
