Days Gone is a 2019 action-adventure video game developed by Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game was released for the PlayStation 4 in April 2019. A Windows port was released in May 2021.
Days Gone is set in post-apocalyptic Oregon two years after the start of a pandemic that turned a portion of humanity into vicious zombie-like creatures. Former outlaw-turned-drifter Deacon St. John discovers his wife Sarah, having been assumed dead, may still be alive and goes on a quest to find her. The game is played from a third-person perspective in which the player can explore an open world environment. Players can use firearms, melee weapons, and improvised weapons, and can use stealth to defend themselves against hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures known as Freakers. A major game mechanic is Deacon’s motorcycle, which is used as the player character’s main mode of transportation.

Cant watch the whole video till later but I wanted to say that Days Gone absolutely deserves a second chance. It needs a sequel desperately.
This has become one of my all time favorite games. The storytelling was amazing. I discovered it thanks to Modest Pelican, but I completed it twice in a row since the buildup was so amazing. I really hope a second game still gets released, but I don't have my hopes up sadly…

If I said it once I said it a million times. This game was robbed by reviewers and it's a shame we will probably never see a sequel. An amazing title with great world building, good characters and just fun gameplay loop honestly

I love the game, but they could've just… not put side quests into the main story. The only reason it takes so long to finish it is because all the missions like bounties after the first one should've been completely optional. The main questline could've been finished in like 50% of the current time.
I wish I had spent the days playing this game engaging with something better, now they are just gone

At launch it was a 6 and now a 7.5-8 (yes played it on PS4 pro then PS5 so saw the difference. This was never a GOTY candidate in 2019 nor should ever be thought of as one, cause it wasn't. Sekiro SDT, Outer Worlds, Outer Wilds, RE2 Remake were all better games
Days Gone was a huge disappointment. Many people sold it to me as a great game. The story is very boring. You don't understand what it wants to tell and the characters are very boring. In addition, the gameplay was a cheap copy of The Last of Us. The only entertaining thing was going around the world on the motorcycle. The character progression with weapons and skills is very slow and boring. When you find your dead wife, it feels so empty and poorly executed. I was so bored i left the game two times i forced myself to finish it 😂

This game is a fucking scam, the game looks nothing like the trailer it’s just a soulless game with very repetitive activities and reused animations, the world feels empty and it’s definitely not because of the apocalypse it’s because there’s nothing to do other than burn zombie nests, the combat somehow feels like an rpg game and melee combat is so horrible, the story is ass with forgettable characters other than deacons pal (which I forgot his name btw) no one even deacons girlfriend is poorly written, hell deacon's poorly written too, the only half decent thing in the game is your bike and it’s customization other than that’s the whole game is trash
I wanted to like the game. Say a Sony game game has gyro aiming and I'll always try it out to see how it is.
Well the motion aiming aint great. The sensitivity is way too low. Even the max setting is too low.
And I like very few open world games. You have to do something really unique to grab my attention. The gameplay really is a standard slow rolling 3rd person shooter with stealth and crafting mechanics. The draw are the hordes, but it happens too late for me to play the game any further.
People rag on ign giving it a 6 out of 10. I think that's a fair score. I mean a 6 isn't a failure. It's not the American education system. A 6 is okay. You can enjoy a 6 out of 10

Honestly i would pre-order everything about days gone 2 the basic one the collector's edition and anything else. Days gone failed because of ign and a few bugs but the person who reviewed days gone at ign said no matter what she would of reveiwed it badly because its a guy on a bike
i just platinumed it, a game everyone should atleast play.
