  1. This is 25 minutes of Troy emotionally coping with one of the worst received character moments in the history of media. Trying to wring every possible ray of sunshine out of an overall horrendously stewarded sequel story. He is a talent that is rare as well as Ashley. Druckmann is incredibly visionary. But they created a second story full of nihilistic assholes including Ellie who were simply insufferable. I didn’t want any of them to live by the end. This is a problem for modern media in general. And it seems like this was an inflection point.

  2. The only thing i wish they had done differently is the ORDER the story was told. I would keep everything the same but play as Abby first, all the way through her story not knowing who joel is what what she does to him until the end of her story. Then once we fell in love with being her and WANTED to get this revenge we see who it is. WE kill Joel and then we switch to Ellie and play the rest out after. I think that would have been better. Other than that keep everything the same.

  3. a lot of people have a problem wih the way The Last of Us 2 went and the turn it took…i don't know maybe fans got the notion that for some reason Ellie and Joel are invincible for some reason and not partial to the laws of fate or destiny or action and consequence. Or perhaps they just wants things to go differently i don;t know. But i've seen a lot of apoclapse type stories in my time (either as games, books, films or whatever else) such as: The Walking Dead, Mad Max, The Stand, Days Gone are some examples. If there is one thing i've learned is that NO ONE is immune from dying, no matter how important they are…they could be the main character or the most insignificant one. the fans just got it in their head that Joel and ellie were going to live happily ever after…i mean WTF…this isn't a disney story. Ellie wanted to die, that was clear in the first one to me and it's a fact…she is selfless and a giver, to her saving the lives of millions would have been worth dying for. Joel saying he would do it all over again is honestly just…pathetic, it shows he can't learn or grow. my brother has said some dumb things to me and my reaction is usually to give him a slap round the head…if i was Ellie i would do the same to Joel…the man needs it.

  4. I just wanna talk for a moment about how you CAN TELL Troy is passionate about Ellie's character and Ashley as a person when you watch his interviews and then how fake he is when praising Bella Ramsey in the series. It is night and day. But you gotta do what you gotta do to market the product, even though it was shitty as fuck

And I don't give a single fuck what Neil Druckman says, how this game is about hate, blah, blah all that jazz. I know for 500% sure, that he made the game with all the characters, all the story arcs etc, etc, just for that last scene with Joel and Ellie on the porch. All the 20+ hours of gameplay with Joel getting killed, why he got killed, all the gay none sense and whatnot, lead exactly to this moment. Without this scene on his mind, the whole game would've been non-existent.

Lastly, I have to point a bad writing when I see one and what made me angry the most is when Ellie says that if she got killed by the Fireflies so they could (eventually) make a cure, only then her life would've mattered. And he life mattered indeed, not just for anyone, but for Joel. It is pretty selfish from her, given her character arc has been presented to be anything, but. They should've just cut that line from the scene or think of something else, that she could say. But "my life would've mattered" line is just poor writing or it's just that feminist Haley Gross has something to do with it, I don't know, but don't buy it.

  5. I've beat ALL versions of the first one so many times (PS3, PS4, and PS5 versions). I've also beat Part 2 SO MANY times on BOTH versions (PS4 AND PS5) and I gotta say, it's a lot of fun. It's so b***ss. Lol 😆 I love it. I like the second one a bit more due to the intensive story and gameplay mechanics like the better weapons, attachments, upgrades, and stealth etc. They're both great games for sure. I still play them. I've been playing them. I played Part 2 a month ago, and HAVE been playing Part 1 (again as well) this past week. Lol good stuff! Epic and fun. I feel like a beast playing that game xD just pure annihilation when I play them. Hahaha 😆

  6. “And to me I would much rather have Joel be found guilty of doing something out of character than just being a flat character that never did anything interesting.”

This man understands storytelling better than every reactionary gamer incel ever could.

Edit: cannot wait for 15:57 on the show. Pedro and Bella are gonna cause tears.

  7. thank you troy and man my heart is broken for this and i don't play the game for now is hard for me too am so sorry 🥺💔

  8. I don't think it's a good game i dont think its a great game i think the only word that adequately describes part two is excellent master piece and ehile i loved the game i was a little conflicted (which is how i feel drukman wanted us to feel cos first you find tourself rightfuly so cheering for and on ellies side then as the game progresses i anyway found my self seeing ellie turn from the good guy on a justified vengence mission into a bad guy who doesnt care how many or who she she kills in her persuit for revenge so despite my love for ellie halfway through i found my self inexplicably on abbeys side as she defends herself from a onslaught on multiple fronts its masterfully done and for what its worth if neil drukman stoped moving time forward with the last of us part three wee could still endup with at least five games including the first three parts cos parts four and five could be prequels ten years each of thoes twenty years between saras dead and the rest of game one id like to thank neil drukman troy baker ashley Johnson and last but by no means least Laura bailey as qell as all the cast and crew that made parts one and two and hopefully are making part three

  9. Yo can someone get in contact with troy and ask himt to play the full part one and two cos his opinions id care to hear although the playthrough is also like to see his approach

  10. The performances were not the problem, they were fantastic as always but the actual decision to kill Joel was what was not great.

  11. “Get this over with” sums up all his feelings of the choice he did should haves and should nots, exactly what Troy just said here. And the game has a lot of that, no hand holding. And I believe if you miss that than you will miss the point also get a divided fanbase

Since the release I been trying to understand what this story ment and it came out during a confusing time in my life. But now finally staying away from the “noise” I can hear my self think and I’ll give it another play through and truly understand what ND is saying. Thinking of taking notes too because it’s long lol

As for Niel I hope this is the story he had in mind I know it was hard with Covid and leaks but I truly hope he was able to express his full story in this game and even more in season 2 TLOU show.

  12. Joel let his guard down because he healed from his trauma, he found happiness in Jackson, in his community, in Ellie (even when things weren’t great between them) !! He doesn’t need to be on edge all the time now. He is a caring man at his core and seeing a girl, the same age as his daughter, of course he would’ve help her

  13. Dude put his heart and soul into his performance. And if they are ok with how Joel's story ended, the players should be too. I agree with him. It's how the story had to go.

  14. I unfortunately had the death spoiled for me by some jerk online. Probably my own fault for being on Twitter but Jesus.
