Fun fact (not so fun?): children who are not supervised may drown while using a swimming pool, it’s one of the few ways kids can die!
Those death abilites are fascinating. Very informative. My fave is death by mother which give you infinite needs

Ah, update finally.
I'll still have some things to say:
1. 02:13 The aging bar is inaccurate for elders. On normal, it usually reaches full after 9 days (elders usually have 10 days until death), but it disregards any life extending traits like Active and Long Lived, thus for some sims, the aging bar stays full for quite a while before the death occurs.
2. 02:53 Use emotion potions beforehand to beat the Uncomfortable emotion and exercise is allowed still.
3. 04:14 Emotional deaths have a chance of happening after sim does the extreme emotion animation. So for example, if your sim becomes Hysterical, every time they do the hysterical laughter idle animation, there's a chance they die. So, if the player is really unlucky, it can happen as soon as they enter the extreme stage. Teens are immune to this death however.
4. 08:47 Death by Rocket Ship is indeed a mysterious case. It has been stated that it causes death by fire rather, but I haven't had it happen too. Taking a look into tuning files, it seems like the fire should be guaranteed when the ship crashes, but it seems like that most of the time, the game fails to spawn the fire. Still, it's… an interesting things…
5. 12:42 Thank you still for not only including the clip, but also crediting it. I sometimes hope to get my channel back out, but the schoolwork burns me out faster unfortunately…
6. 20:28 This is more complicated than just the fish being hungry. Get Famous guide on SimsVIP has the full list of traits, skills and emotion that increases or decreases the chance of drowning if your sim either jumps in or falls in after playing with the fishes. Also, this death feeds the sharks or piranhas in it. A morbid little detail.
7. 21:21 Kind of hoped to see this one changed, but oh well, I'll explain again. Some neighborhoods have much higher chance of having it happen, like Mua Pel'am (shown in the clip), Foxbury Institute, and Koh Sahpa (haven't done the Ocean Soup test in Ravenwood still). Also, the first pull can also result in death (the further ones do have a higher chance). While mermaids can summon the Ocean Threat to pull sims underwater, it'll never kill the sim, but give them the same Scared moodlet.
8. 27:00 and 07:49 Injury doesn't necessarily have to be from the same source. It can be also from skiing and snowboarding accidents, slipping and falling during icy conditions, and fighting werewolves.
And that's it for now. One additional fact is that Tuning Files suggest players were able to choose when sims die in their sleep, but I couldn't find the interaction to trigger it. Would have been great for players with aging off, but oh well…
Interesting thing to note: ever since the October 2024 basegame update, Captain Whitaker, the ghost dog from Brindleton Bay, now spawns into the game alive and well. This is likely an oversight, as he was tagged as "Death by Old Age" despite being a Young Adult Dog, which is now not possible through legitimate means.

I'd like to think that with the Mother Plant death, the Grim Reaper doesn't want to go anywhere near her so that's why he doesn't show up.
i remmeber i was playing this game and started a event in the park and got the heat wave and suddenly all started to die by overheating. i think 5 people died in place and 2 died later. and we still got that bug the grim reaper took long time to reap souls

It’s not technically a death but if you use the wishing well and wish for a child you have a chance at getting a ghost child

New challenge idea!!!
Death by laughter is funny, but also annoying. Once my sim gave birth and then died immediately after because she was friends with the doctor at the hospital that delivered her baby and so she got a playful buff from a sentiment they had and since she was so happy from just giving birth, she died of laughter. I was so baffled by this I kept her dead. That was the first time in a loooonnngggg time a sim lf mine died accidentally XD
