It took me seven playthroughs to discover this hidden quest related to the Thalmor Embassy in Skyrim. During the main storyline, you escape from the embassy with a wood elf named Malborn, who worked there and helped you get inside. Afterward, you can usually find him at the dark elf tavern in Windhelm, where he says a few lines. But if you wait a bit and come back later, his dialogue changes.

I've actually never been able to save him from the Thalmor. He dies every time.

You can also get the waitress that erikur hits on during the party brelas to escape with you at the embassy if you get her thrown in the dungeon she will be with malborn in windhelm for this quest but she doesnโt add anything besides following malborn out of town
Bethesda tried to make that mission one of their biggest and best. Look it up on the wiki. Yet it came out full of bugs. Idk why they never fixed.

I've done this quest by accident in every playthrough cause I'm a greedy bastard that sells EVERYTHING to everyone. And I turned that club over a few times for thief jobs.
There's a list of gameplay enhancements I add to my game but its actually ridiculous your character can't get intoxicated from mead, I get its the dragon borne but come onnnnn JUST sleeping tree sap? OK ig, but, its not very wizardly to not add that good old shire weed

I always reload until he survives, lol. He put his life in danger to get us the info we needed, it's the least I should do. He even gives us a cut of what he stole, he was a real one
I never got this quest because he always got eaten by the frost toll.

I love how Skyrim refuses to die. It will be played long after we are gone.
He usually dies at the embassy, or I find him in the cave when I am escaping. This time he didn't, though, so I'll go and see him in Windhelm.

I wish I could have saved him, but NOOOOOO. dawngaurd attacker, some necromancer attacked, a bear, and then a damn dragon. My game didn't want this dude to live, and I've tried a lot to let this dude live
I remember I did this and didnโt think much of it honestly just randomly saw him and talked to him again and eliminated him
This happened on my first playthrough. I wasn't listening to the conversations because I had the sound turned off so I got lost and just killed all of the Thalmor and then got this ending.
I just discovered this on my most recent play through. Itโs insane that 13 years later Iโm still learning more about this game.

if ask the other khajiit merchants about this guy, they say he does not belong to them and that he might be thalmor agent

What do u do if u were a werewolf when u free the moth priest, so u go get little miss vampire as a companion, go back, get turned into a vampire, and u still can't locate your 'vampires seduction skill show up anywhere'…. and biting him don't come under " I need u to do something " so…. hmmm,
