Some Skyrim perks are simply not worth it for your build. All the perks involving critical hit damage work off of base damage which is very low compared to the damage you get from your weapons in the end game via enchanting, smithing and skill level increases. Don’t get these perks, except the sprinting power attack one if you just enjoy it!

  1. Criticals ignore armor and always stagger… I feel that you've overlooked this… Bc my crit builds perform better when enhancing my crits.. also helps when assassinating…

  2. Except you're complaining about crit, which is an addition. My weapons kill in one hit whether it crits or not, so it doesn't matter.

You should mention perks which have negative effects, like "Purity" in the Alchemy tree, which screws up your ability to make very expensive multi-effect potions.

  3. Literally haven't played through Skyrim with the vanilla perk trees since November 2011. My games have been so modded throughout the years I dont even enjoy the game without mods.

  4. "Sprinting power attack is useless."
Me using the sprinting power attack to stun-lock Karstaag until he dies so I get his summon…it's not the tool, it's how you use it

  5. Okay, but hear me out. If it comes down to one last hit with a difficult enemy and your last attack before you die brings them down to almost dead, then you might have won if you'd had that crit perk.

  6. I hate to be that guy, but more damage is more damage. Sure, don't spec into it right away, but if you're trying to squeeze out every point of damage late-game, then isn't it still more?

  7. I can still notice a dramatic difference between a normal arrow shot with a daedric bow + daedric arrow versus a critical hit with it.

  8. I remember starting out on my first Skyrim run as a Khajiit, only to realise that the steel sword i was using did less damage than my claws lmao.

  9. The sprinting charge perks are still good. Not for the crits or animations, but because they allow you to attack enemies mid-sprint with power attacks without losing speed. This is brilliant for melee builds that otherwise have trouble chasing down mobile enemies. Now you can run targets down and attack them without slowing down and letting the target run away again and again. The extra crit damage and cool animations are just small bonuses on top of this.
