In this first episode of a new series that I want to work my way through, I start a very basic setup for a colony on Mars with the USA Sponsor. I need to work my way up to having a good population on the Red Planet, and eventually I want to have a sizable scientist workforce to quickly research all of the technologies in the engineering tree.

One thing you can do to offset the challenges of this mission is to use the raid buildings.
The pirate cove can steal the Hagia Sophia which will prevent anyone from dying due to the pollution, then preform repeated rescue many mission to bring in population
The commando garrison can use repeated intimidate raids to offset your bad housing rating
