Fire Surge is one of the weakest pyromancies in Dark Souls. At least, the base damage would suggest that. But is it? And even if it is, can you beat the game with it anyways?
Time to find out if we can beat Dark Souls 1 with only Fire Surge.

my only guess is the mod used doesn't just add fire surge to your starting inventory, but rather switches the fireball you started with with the fire surge in painted world, because otherwise, you could, in theory, grab the second fire surge in the painted world and attune both for double the casts, plus the dusk ring for 4x casts while hyper mode might not last the entire length of all 240 casts against artorias, the ones you do get, combined with having the remaining casts all be while you're in RTS status, might just be enough to kill artorias

Given how strong spells tend to take longer to cast, Id still find it a challenge at max level. Fire Surge was probably the only spell I ever got in DS, and of course I used a FUCKING FLAMETHROWER. Of course it was op against the 4 kings.
Also, to those who like to be pedantic and say sonce you cant get it in the asylum, you cant beat with that spell. Um, new game+ exists. Yes you can do ANY fucking challenge. I was gonna say beat but some cant be. I would normally agree that no you cant beat DS1 with only fire cause of Quelaag, but since Im gonna have to glitch my way past her cause I like sexy spider ladies, you can.

what gets me is that u didn't just get another instance of the spell since the casts stack for some reason
With Sen’s skip you can definitely get to fire surge without killing any bosses except asylum demon, and there are a couple of skips for that one two if I remember right.

Any achievement chasers already knew about fire surge well before the one-shot challenge. The problem is they probably never used it.
Just so you know backlogs I will always be waiting, for you to ran out of ideas on what to do on All of the souls series EXCEPT Elden Ring

oh, that reminds me of a silly video i saw once, but can't seen to find again…
it was called something like "worst spells in D&D, or "useless spells in D&D".
the DM kept suggesting lousy spells to a level 1 wizard, who kept saying that he wanted Fireball.
finally he snaps and says, "i REALLY want to be able to cast fireball, even if it's the ONLY spell i EVER learn."
the DM says, ,"ok, you can cast only Fireball."
later the DM says, "i wonder how he's doing?"
EVERYTHING is on fire, and you hear the wizard say, "i cast FIreball AS A CANTRIP."
"oh, SHIT!" the DM exclaims!
in case you don't get it, Cantrips are "level 0" spells that, to put it simply, DON'T USE ANY MANA WHEN CAST!
So I have a story about Dark Souls 1 I was fighting Bed of Chaos and when I killed Bed of Chaos my game crashed restarting the fight so I didn’t know if I could beat Dark Souls or if Bed of Chaos had beaten me I reloaded the save beat Bed of Chaos and game didn’t crash
Fire surge back on the 360 was so good it broke the 4th wall.
Causing the console to overheat and fps fall to single digits.
I love the fact that whenever a new Backlogs video comes out, other challenge runners are there to comment their opinion.
So i dont know if it’s only a me thing. But everything the video starts and he says, “hey it’s Lemon.” I just instinctively respond “hi Lemon.”
