Hello there, Territorial Rotbart here. I present a cinematic fan-made film of the location Sylvalum from Xenoblade Chronicles X which includes the complete day and night cycle!

The song is Sylvalum’s theme which is called “46-:ri9” and composed by Hiroyuki Sawano. My inspiration came from listening to the song and imagining all the different kinds of shots that would play in my head. So, I decided to make a film for the picturesque Sylvalum and the amazing track by Hiroyuki Sawano. The process of producing this film was most of the time hard. I particularly had difficulty filling in most sections of the video where I didn’t know how the film should progress. After weeks of work, I’m glad to bring this film out to the world, especially for all Xenoblade fans!

The creation process started with a storyboard where I would plan the song out, but halfway through the song things were really slowing down. Thanks to my brother who told me I should just create the video, I was able to make great progress and achieve the final video. So, I would like to express my gratitude to my brother for giving me advice and clarifying the result I wanted to achieve.

The tools I used to create this film were:
-Clip Studio Paint for my storyboard, although I dropped using it halfway.
-CEMU, a Wii U emulator which included other tools like a higher rendering resolution, FOV settings, and weather change among other things.
-Adobe Premiere Pro as my editing software alongside the RSMB plugin for the motion blur.

I’m not sure whether I’ll produce another film of a Xenoblade game (1, 2, or X) in the future, but let’s just say I have a few ideas in my mind. 😉

I do not own the song in this video. All ownership rights of the used track belong to Hiroyuki Sawano. The video game “Xenoblade Chronicles X” is produced by Monolith Software Inc. and published by Nintendo Co., Ltd.

  1. Man, I love that people still play this game even seven years later. X may not be as beloved as 1 and 2, but it still remains my favorite game in the series, and Sylvalum is my favorite area both for its incredibly chill music and it's incredibly unique area design. At first you think it's a snow level, but it's actually somthing completely different. Honestly, I think it's the most 'alien' of the game's environments.

The video was pretty stunning as well, the choreography and cinematography really complimented the music and atmosphere, I can tell a lot of work went into making this.

    Have a like and sub.

  2. I just want you to know that this is beautiful and I love every second of it. Thank you for creating such a wonderful thing.

  8. That has to be the most stunning video game cinematography I've ever seen! I really wish they would have released this game on other systems besides the WiiU, because this makes me really want to play it.

  9. omg. I just found this.

  12. This is the coolest video I have seen on the internet, period. Really transported me back to 2015 when this game first came out and I would spend so much time just messing around in it.. really need to do a replay at some point.

  13. I kept this video in my Watch Later for about a month because I was never in the right mood to sit still for 5 minutes

I'm so glad I did, the way everything flowed so well with the music gave me tears in my eyes, even though I've never played the game or watched much exploration (just all cutscenes video and other miscellaneous stuff)
Thank you for making my day (at 11:59 PM, haha)

  14. Why does X still look so much better than everything on switch. Not the people sure but the world is still so gorgeous and has yet to be beaten by any xenoblade since

  15. When I typed my research hoping to find some nice footage of Sylvalum, I did not expect something this amazing. This made my day, awesome video. Now I have to replay the whole game.

I don't know if it's too much to ask but I would LOVE IT if you could do the same for Oblivia and Noctilum for example.

  16. This video is beyond incredible. The absolute best representations of how it feels to play Xenoblade X, thank you so so much for this!

  18. Beautiful. Sylvalum's pollen storms are the most magical happenings in the game ❤We NEED this game on Switch so more people can experience the greatest open world-game ever made.
