PV for the song “Unhappy Refrain” (アンハッピーリフレイン Unhappy Refrain), by wowaka, sung by Hatsune Miku. This song is contained in the Future Sound expansion pack.

☆ English Translation: SEGA (Hatsune Miku Project DIVA X) + vgperson (http://vocaloidlyrics.wikia.com/wiki/%E3%82%A2%E3%83%B3%E3%83%8F%E3%83%83%E3%83%94%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AA%E3%83%95%E3%83%AC%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3_(Unhappy_Refrain)).
I took the liberty of replacing vgperson’s lyrics with SEGA’s version whenever a verse from SEGA’s translated portion would repeat, whereas in the wikia only the first half of the song was replaced.

Enjoy!

  3. I think it's about time that people be aware of the misconceptions surrounding Unhappy Refrain. It's not about Vocaloid producers not being credited in their songs that's why Wowaka left the scene, it was simply a problem that was very prevalent during those years in the fandom. VGPerson has a translated interview from Wowaka and DECO*27 about their time in the Vocaloid scene and UHR is a lot more complex than Wowaka being upset about not being credited in this works.

"It felt like an important part of myself was lost, and at the time, I couldn't digest that idea of "wowaka-esque" in a positive way. I had done all this as wowaka because I simply liked to, so being repaid with that kind of stuff was very, very saddening, and really exhausted me. I think that's also why, after releasing Unhappy Refrain, I was in such a terrible mental state."

He was conflicted with the fact that he felt as if he couldn't properly express himself because everyone expected "Wowaka" on him, not see him as a guy who has the name Wowaka. This is why he constantly said he owed Hitorie his life for saving him. Why he felt singing with his own voice was the thing that could save him.

Unknown Mothergoose also isn't about him not being credited in songs. He released a tweet/statement after he released UMG, translated by kazarinn on Tumblr:

"Well, let’s talk about this Miku song, “Unknown Mother Goose”. It’ll be a bit crude for me to talk about the song in detail like this, so I’ll keep it short. Like this. With this all happening at this timing, I was thinking about Hatsune Miku’s importance to me, so I decided to make a song about my relation to Hatsune Miku, and put in everything I’m talking about."

Read the song's lyrics again after that fact. Even if people are free to have their own interpretation of songs, it saddens me a bit that a lot of these interpretations are far from the intent Wowaka had with his songs.

  4. It sounds like a song from Scooby Doo hex girls also great job on this video my friend.

  5. This songs makes me so happy anytime I talk about it or sing it my eyes start watering

  6. Hatsune Miku is the most iconic Vocaloid ever. I just love how Miku-Chan is making many cameo appearances in this Anime. Her design is so pretty. I can keep re watching this video on a loop. The Ievan Polka song is so catchy to listen too. This one is by far hands down one of the best Animes of the year. And it's also all thanks to one of best Vocaloids of all time Miku-Chan.

  7. I really gotta hand it to the animators, they really captured the song and what Wowaka was saying in Miku's expressions and movements. This is currently my favorite song and I found it at the right time too.
