The official music video including English lyrics, released in 1999 on Japanese MTV. This is has been my absolute favorite song since I first completed the game nearly 20 years ago.

I listen to it whenever I feel overwhelmed by the pains and struggles of this world and by the end of the song… I cannot help but feel that no matter how broken, there is peace to be found in putting all these pieces back together that make up who we are.

Enjoy the video!

  1. I listen to it whenever I feel overwhelmed by the pains and struggles of this world and by the end of the song… I cannot help but feel that no matter how broken, there is peace to be found in putting all these pieces back together that make up who we are.

  2. Xenogears, the only game I can claim with no ego or doubt to have an absolutely perfect story. One of the finest love tales and examples of video game narrative the world will ever see.

  3. This song can now be heard in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius thanks to the new UI update where if you put the Xenogears Vision Card on you home menu then this song will play if you equip it.

  4. I love the game and this song is a masterpiece fo sure. The lyrics, the melodies, backing vocals and how the flute and other instrument match each other. However, I've never really understood how or why they agreed that the guitar solo in 3:244:02 was actually acceptable. The timbre is atrocious and the execution is so poor, besides it just doesn't fit in the mix. It really sounds like a beginner guitar student jamming over the track in his bedroom. I would love to find a backing track version of this song to record this guitar solo again with the quality this song deserves.

  5. Takahashi's genius on full display. This game was an absolute masterpiece and remains one of my top 10.

Tanaka deserves plenty of credit as well 🙂 between this and FFXI the man has earned my eternal respect

  6. How do you listen without crying ? They don't make games like these anymore – Squaresoft at their very peak.

Probably the Alltime best J-RPG…ever. Even the very great Final Fantasy X and VII gets schooled here.

Petition for a PS5 Remake is a Must. Sick of Failures like Forspoken, also Square is hurting themselfs for not remaking Xenogears and Chrono Trigger.

  7. …and all of a sudden I'm 14 years old again. My God this song is amazing. Xenogears is certainly flawed but also a true masterpiece that just makes you feel all the feels, encapsulated perfectly with this beautiful song.

  8. 2023 and still cant get over this game, if they could remake the game i wish they include everything that was supposed to in the original…

  9. This game is the very definition of a flawed gem, a masterpiece that missed its chance for great heights but is still great enough to stay with you for a lifetime.

  10. This… is the one final Boss RPG that Zelda games couldn't beat.

If they ever decided to make a Remake of this in all it's Glory and with a huge budget, I promise this is going to obliterate Tears of the Kingdom and even Ocarina of Time.

It IS the most epic, spiritual RPG ever created imho, not a Game but just a Experience in its Artform. Also it is much more mature than Zelda or even Final Fantasy, probably too demanding for most kids of this modern generation. Anyways this is Squaresoft's best Game ever, and it's also the best RPG ever, don't care what anyone else says.

  11. "Music is a mysterious thing. Sometimes it makes people remember things they do not expect. Many thoughts, feelings, memories… things almost forgotten… Regardless of whether the listener desires to remember or not."

  12. Okay, am I the only one who really doesn't like the electric guitar here? It's so loud compared to all the other instruments, and one moment sounds like an outright mistake on the player's part 3:52

The rest of the song is peak.

  13. How my dad blindly picked this game (& Jade Cocoon) for my first game when he bought me a PS1 from the flea market i'll never know but I still think about it all the time. I used to do a playthrough every few years with a save file after the Dinosaur in the forest fight and I would spend a week of my summer vacation playing through this masterpiece and every playthrough I would pick up new things. I've tried to play it as an adult but it's such a commitment

  14. If ever there were a game in need of a faithful remake or remaster. I have multiple copies squirreled away with no way to play them.

  15. I prefer Mobius, since it's more grounded to the story and sung from Elly's perspective. Nonethelss, still amazing song.

  16. 内容は重く難解で運命の理不尽さとか喜びなんかより悲しみ、寂しさが前面に出てくる
    でもこの曲とエンディングを見るとやって良かったと思える
    いつまで経っても色褪せない素晴らしい曲です

  17. I can't put into words how much this game, and its "sequels" in Saga and Blade mean to me. I don't know if I would be here today without the Xeno series. Thank you, Tetsuya Takahashi. For these masterpieces.
