One of Undertale’s biggest mysteries has always been the ending of the genocide route, where if you finally manage to hit Sans he will bleed instead of just turning to dust. This should be impossible considering the rules monsters in Undertale abide by, so what do you think happened?

I have a theory, I listened to last breath phase 2 many times and I realized he said he needed determination to survive, since determination is red and was injected to him, and when he gets hurt it goes all out, but that's just a theory.

Maybe since he is apart of an organization that deals with timelines he could be human disguised as a skeleton to comfort his dead brother who became a skeleton monster and to blend in with the other monsters. Then again him being from deltarune universe makes more sense.
That red liquid could be his Determination. For a monster with only 1 HP, it's next to impossible for him to survive a few seconds after a 9999999 damage .

I think sans just used the rest of his power to make us confuse and regret that we make genocide and get out of our screen before he turned to dust
