I was just playing this today. Such a good game
I was thinking about getting back into Days Gone again. It took me by surprised when I originally played it. I did everything there was to do in my first playthrough and when I do that in a game it's often a good while before I ever play it again. I feel like I owe it a new game plus though where I just play straight through the story this time. It was extremely rough around the edges, but it truly deserved a sequel. Sony was bogus for shooting it down, but new rumors are popping up that a sequel may be coming after all.

I just watched the first stream I'm starting and this one I hope there will be more streams at least with all the main missions from the story.
If I remember rightly the guy in charge blamed the fans for not having brought it and paid the full price and instead waited for it to be cheaper for the reason there isn't going to be a sequel.

It's not just about sales though.
If a game/movie/whatever gets bad or not enough good reviews, they won't spend the money for a sequel they don't think will sell well.
That would mean money and work hours/ years it takes to make a game that will potentially bomb. It's just not worth the investment.
