Since SO2 IS using BP for moves that NEEDED 999 uses ie Healing Star Bowman's SELF heal in SO2 R they will likely REQUIRE the FULL 999 BP to max those out but that's still faster then using them 999 times each which even WITH a auto fire controller takes least 3 HOURS for Opera and about 1 hour for Bowman especially since 2nd evolution R Vita PS3 Vita in JAPAN had a PAID DLC cheat for INFINITE MP USE in battles making 999 uses for Opera/Bowman easier.
