Double Or Nothing is the finale for Chapter 4 in Need For Speed Payback’s campaign. It is the next main story mission after Operation Skyhammer, this time stealing 2 gold plated cars from The House with secret tech. Featuring Hollywood moments, police chases and an unstoppable 18-wheeler.

Played with keyboard and manual transmission.

Cars:
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX Runner Class

I do apologies for poor frame rate. It happens everytime a cop spawn or right before a cutscene.

  1. 1:47 The choice would be obvious, if Tyler didn’t have a plan to snatch both. That Lambo could go for anywhere, I’d suspect, between 500k, and 2 million, with that gold plating! And with the car going overseas, you’re gonna hurt relations and cash flow, a lot, by snatching someone’s piece de la resistance that’s about to go to a foreign investor,

The Merc however, has an arguable case. You get that Merc outta town, from right under security’s noses, with thousands of Fortune Valley’s eyes watching, you’re sticking a big middle finger, to the corrupt cops, and The House itself.

If both cars, couldn’t be swiped, the question would become ‘do you want to make their pockets cry?’ Or ‘Do you want to show the people what they’re rooting for?’, and to be fair, the House doesn’t have many people left rooting for them, anyway…

2:31 An Impreza, for a runner. Eh… I’m in two minds, on this one. Subarus are built for a different kind of ‘rough and tumble’, to the one that Runners normally go against. On the other hand, if ‘DLC for Days’ spent their (literally) 2 cents, on the Impreza being able to go off-road, then you have an advantage over most Runner vehicles.

5:27 This legitimately caught me by surprise, first time around! Since when did Rockstar’s twin brother in shitty sales tactics, get such decent writers?

5:505:58 THREE. RHINOS. IN EIGHT SECONDS. ‘Arkwright’, eat your heart out! Can’t imagine going at this, without training from Heat 5, in NFS Heat!

Police: ”We have Rhinos! There’s nothing heavier-“
    Mac: ”Hold. My. Truck.”

8:008:15 Ya love these guys really, Rav.

9:36 The Collector, after seeing / hearing this, is probably reminiscent of Doctor Robotnik, in the back end of the ‘birth of a salesman’ episode. For anybody who doesn’t know this one. Doctor R throws absolutely everything in the room, including the kitchen sink, at his lackeys.

11:1211:18 I do wonder, how much Weir put on the idea of Tyler walking away with the rush, to be fair. How much did that casino chip risk, when he bet it with the house? $2 Million, at least? Weir mentions Tyler’s odds being 100:1, earlier in the story, and what’s to say the bet wasn’t put down, when the odds were even crazier? so, even if you value the casino at a minimum of $1 Million, the Gambler walks away with $100 Million, when you beat the story! The Collector words, when Navarro is beat, make a lot more sense now.

  2. casually committing acts of domestic terrorism in my favourite racing franchise

Where is the roadblock, like the one that's blocking you like do you have to turn where that roadblock is even though you don't or something like what is happening
