  7. The distinction between story missions and side quests seems very arbitrary. There are eccentric little usually straightforward side quests in this game that are not necessary for the completion of the game because if they were they wouldn't be considered side quests. But here's where it gets weird. There are eccentric little story missions in this game that are not necessary for the completion of the game which makes me wonder why they are called story missions? At first I assumed its because they were more focused on the war against the cult when compared with the side quests. Like "Let's go blow up the enemy's armory" and things like that. But I was wrong. There are side quests that are focused on fighting the war and there are unnecessary story missions that don't have anything to do with anything. Like one moment I'm doing a side quest for a guy to get a car. The next I'm doing an unnecessary story mission to retrieve a guy's stolen car that he then gives to me. I'm not seeing the distinction here. It's not even as if I was returning a stolen car to one of the main characters. It was just some smelly random NPC who I don't think exists outside of that one mission.

  8. One of my favorite moments was when I was doing one of those enemy stronghold takeover missions and for whatever reason just as I was about to die a nearby bull decided that he had had enough of these cult members and smashed through the nearby fence and proceeded to single handedly kill a dozen of them before smashing through the next fence and charging off into the sunset.

So I wish we could get a bull as an animal follower. I know they are a bit bulky, but so is Cheeseburger.

  9. WARNING. As you may have heard there is a bug that makes the game permanently night time. You can fix the bug by doing a side quest called Prairie Oyster Harvest. But to do this mission you need to first do a different mission for the same character who is called Casey. The mission is called Testy Festy. This fixes the bug because as part of Prairie Oyster Harvest's plot it is morning by the end of it. So rather than rely on the day night cycle that is no longer working that mission will force things to return to daytime.

So obviously what you want to do is to avoid those side quests like the plague until the bug kicks in. Some people are getting this bug with one of John's necessary story missions called The Cleansing. It's one of those missions that start after you have simply pissed him off enough. However I got it much later with a different one of John's necessary story missions that were triggered by me simply pissing him off. So there is definitely a connection there.

So if you want to play it safe I wouldn't do the fix until John is crossed off the map.

It is possible that there are other side quests that also turn night into day as part of their plot. But none come to mind.
