slow and boring tbh. not worth the money
I don't understand how the community agrees how weak the second half of the game is yet can still call it a masterpiece. The first half of the game is phenomenal but after O&S the drop in quality is staggering. Can't really be considered a masterpiece.
I like DS1 Combat more than DS2 combat. You said DS1 feels turned based, which I partially agree with. But DS2 IMO is far more Turn Based due to animation recovery after attacking being super slow.
Easily the best in the series by a long hot
Most normal players don't go from the ouras demon to the capra demon. The Tend to hit the two gargoyles first
And I think Gwyn is supposed to be an underwhelming fight because you're meeting him in his eakest form. This is a gwen who has just given up everything to make his age of fire last a little bit longer, His family and ann orlando keeping an illusion of the sun. What little power he had left split between him and his knights. Gwen was supposed to be weak because if we met him when he first started, we would have got annihilated
Played it for the first time ever this July and I say it is.
You say "still" as if it could stop being one.
I love it and still play probably once a year! It was the first FROMSOFT I ever played.
I have played this game probably 5 times through, doing different builds, and I gotta say, it's my personal favorite FromSoft, though i fight with Bloodborne. The world felt so comforting while haunting, and the everything before the Lordvessel is legit one of the best gaming experiences ever. after DS3, I returned to the first cause I got the formula, and I the game hit at the right time in my life. I think the ending too is so wonderfully dismal, and the music is so fucking gorgeous omg
When I played DS1 I got really lucky and didn’t even look towards the skeletons from firelink and went the right why just by chance 😅
Nope mid asf
DS isn't just a game it's an adventure. Same with 2 even if people don't like it as much. It still retains that distinct adventure feeling of the first. Dark Souls 3 was definitely way more on the "gamey" side.
You mentioned the Capra demon has an insane runback. Did you not get the shortcut back to undead burg that's directly to the right of the boss fog? Took me 3 play throughs to find it, but def made runbacks on that boss much more manageable.
It never was
Like super Mario. Dated masterpiece
It’s the bedrock of a whole genre it doesn’t have to he the best in that genre (it isn’t) it is the reason they’re all here. Although I still think it has the best interconnected world of all souls like games until DS3
Thats 45+ minutes of word vomit to just say “I want warping from the start”, “I hate all bosses in base game except Snorlax and Pikachu” and “every boss in DLC is good”….
💥💥 When get it you don't like dark soul 1 young buck. You these trash modern call of duty tho.
First half is fantastic but gets interupted by some terrible boss fights like Garping Dragon, Iron Golem, Gargoyles, Moonlight Butterfly etc. :/
I think we don't need to talk about the 2nd half, its a mess. Feels like Armored Core Nexus lol.
Don't get me wrong, DS1 has some excellent Boss fights like Ornstein and Sidekick, Quelaag, Artorias, Centipede Demon.
My problem are these oversized bosses, they work very good in Monster Hunter with the crazy weapons and movement but not that well in Dark Souls.
Dark Souls is at the peak when you fight against Bosses in your size with "equal" abilities.
Sounds like bashing, but I really love Dark Souls 1, but has to many flaws for being a masterpiece. It is a 7/10 game. Its typical From Software from the old time. 😄
As long as there is a level in DS1 called blighttown, then DS1 is far from perfect.
I still dream of DS1 remake, maybe then we'll have a second half that's just as good as the first.
Manus was my hardest fight in the whole of all the souls games I played besides vanilla Melania when I was trying to beat her without bloodhound step and rivers
Well yeah it's still a amazing game
DS1 was never a masterpiece
I started with blood borne and then sekiro and then I’m gonna play this game even tho it’s older I feel like I’m gonna like it more than sekiro and bloodborne because of the slow combat it looks satisfying and the bosses and atmosphere looks badass
Another guy makes a 45 minute + video about Dark Souls… says nothing new… but successfully asks dumb questions.
A lot of the issues you’re complaining about really just come off as a skill issue
funny when you mention that DS1 is like turn based because that my friend told me when i play ds for the second time after i stuck in the first time, i failed because i playing it like any action hack and slash or action rpg like kingdom heart ( i didn't even notice there's a stamina bar lol ).
Extremely excited for the inevitable video about how Demon's Souls (2009) is still a masterpiece
