The Low Level One-Shot Challenge is a classic challenge I’ve always wanted to tackle, and what better motivation than for my friend The Backlogs to challenge an entire pack of runners to tackle it.

So apparently there’s been a couple mixups and confusion regarding a couple things, which is understandable, so figured I’d clear up a couple things.
– All the runners took on our runs at the same time, not one after the other. We all went our separate ways and did our own runs at roughly the same time and made our own strats at roughly the same time. Some people are faster at making videos than others, so it may seem like everything is desynced but trust me, we all ran it at the same time.
– The video is written from SOLELY the perspective of my run. Because #1 it would be a jackass move to spoil other people’s videos, and #2 it would ruin the entire point of the finale of the whole competition.
– There’s a reason that I frame things with a sense of Ambiguity when I say things like “world first” because again, we don’t want to spoil the final project. We’ll all see what happens when it all comes to a close 😁

…oh gosh, nothing hits me harder in the "feeling old" front than hearing that the original version of this challenge is over 10 years old. There's no way that can be true… I was there and watched his channel when it was posted, and actually got partway through the run myself before I found that it kind came down to just farming tons of souls to get an ascended pyromancy flame. This was a fantastic run, and I was definitely not crying the whole time.
There actually was one person back in the day who oneshot the four kings, but it was using a glitch, they used the Tumblebuff glitch to get a Darkmoon Blade buff onto the Stone Golem sword, who's unique two-handed R2, which was never intended to be used with a weapon buff, actually deals the buff damage to all enemies in the slow effect every tick, for a total of 15 or so.
Also, Hyper Mode is not 90% damage. The buffs stack multiplicatively, so 1.5 * 1.4 is 2.1, 110% more damage.
What a great video, cant wait to see backlogs’ video on everyone’s attempts! Question: do you think you’ll continue with the ds3 play through or is that kind cancelled/put on hiatus?

Completely unrelated to this run, but I just wanted to let you know that your video about beating DS1 with only pyromancy is actually wrong, I have tested this before and you CAN beat DS1 with only pyromancy (if you count mildred defeating quelaag as being valid since you're not directly dealing the damage) because you can use the black flame pyromancy to kill bed of chaos and ceaseless discharge since black flame does partially physical damage.

I can't get enough of these videos, I hope there are other runners! It's absolutely amazing how nobody was able to one shot the Four Kings for 12 years, and now two people did it with the same technique, without consulting each other. Truly an achievement, congrats.

To kill Manus with pyromancy you must wait for him to make his magical attack since at that moment he is still and thus more pillars of fire hit his body

You could also technically do this as a mage build with dark bead. But I guess that might be too easy

This was an excellent run! However, I did watch another player on shot Manus. You are 100% correct. It was all about luck. You had the exact way too. One shot him down. You just had to wait for him to jump backwards to get the damage boost.

I think there is a 4 kings one shot video but it wasn't singleplayer so it didn't really count anyways, it used the multiplayer partner with the Trident buff

This channel is hugely underrated your challenges are the best, and you editing skills and choice of music is top notch.
I saw watched this challenge from many other youtubers and i was desperately waiting for GamersWeekend version .. now i can say i'm not disappointed, regardless of Manus you absolutely killed it.
PS: none of the other yourubers did Four Kings as far as i know.
One other challenge that I thought about is: Can you beat Dark Souls with only using the dragon head? I love your vids. They give much insight and are fun to watch!
