Seeing this back in 2001 was life-changing. Back then, only Metal Gear Solid 2 could match this game on a cinematic and artistic level and even then it was leagues behind the sheer emotional brillance of FFX.
Just the minds that it takes to even think of this and put all this together is mindblowing like wow. This blew my mind as a kid. This was one of the first premiere games I played when I got a PS2. Imagine this opens your world up to PS2 games. I hadn't even played stuff like Kingdom Hearts and all that yet this was an intro to next gen gaming.
Back when music in games was good.

this was the most HD thing I ever saw on a ps2.
This was my introduction to the Final Fantasy series as a 7th grader and it blew my mind!
This intro has lived rent free in my head for almost 20 years and to this day I swear it’s one of the best intros to a game ever made
FFX is so special, there will never be anything like it. So much heart was put into this game.
I remember I wanted to bash my head against the TV when i watched this back in the day. Auron is badass!

I still remember being amazed by the sport played in this intro, and how cool it was (an extreme form of water polo).
And everything about the cutscene is so cool…The water particles changing direction as gravity got affected by the monster, Auron standing like a badass, and the sheer terror of what is basically a gigantic Tsunami destroying a nation that looks like Thailand (RIP to those that died in the real Thai Tsunami…).
