Oh greeeaat ! So glad you're playing part II already !! As you saw… losing Joel right at the beginning like that, the way it was built, playing Abby at a moment and stuff… is so damn brutal ! 💔 But, as soon as they were in that room you felt it !!

For me, TLOU is a great game. But Part Ii is a masterpiece of storytelling. It can be emotionally challenging at times, but oh my god is it ever worth the journey.
You probably won’t see this till much later, but Joel and Ellie are awkward at the beginning because they’re still trying to figure out how to be with each other after their time on the road. They’re not really father/daughter, but they’re more than just acquaintances.
In the Last of Us TV series, season 2, Joel gets his knee shot off.
Abby: Joel Miller…
Joel (sobbing): Who are you?
Abby: Guess.
Joel (sobbing more intensely): I'm so sorry for whatever I've done. I didn't mean to do it.
Abby (starts sobbing too): Tourniquet his leg.
Meg tourniquets the leg. Abby sits next to Joel and they sob together, quietly contemplating the injustices of life. After some time.
Joel (having finally sobbed his eyes dry): Kill me with a golf club, please. Any on my right will do.
Been looking forward to this series getting going and this first video did not disappoint.
So much investment in the characters, visceral reaction to the story, genuine smiles, blushes, sorrow. It is great to see someone get so into this narrative and these characters, Really looking forward to the rest of the series. There is so much more to come 👌

2:52:58 finally someone with some sense, everyone i see acts like they’re Joel’s widow. Joel killed a bunch of people in that hospital, he killed people who were looking for a cure for humanity and he killed them out of selfishness.
I’ve played the game multiple times, watched gameplay from multiple creators, and Joel’s death makes me cry every single time

Love watching your play throughs but I’d consider having less ad plays. I know it’d be less monetization but the amount is absolutely absurd and makes it difficult to stay immersed with you.

As far as game continuity at the start of the game, keep in mind that Part 2 was released 7 years after the first game. They sort of needed the recap and for the story to pick up right after the first so people wouldn't be lost.
The reason things were a bit awkward between Joel and Ellie at the start is that their whole relationship was based on him protecting her. Once they were in Jackson she didn't really need protecting any more and they were still trying to figure out what they were to each other. They're a little beyond friends, they're not exactly family and it's probably an uncomfortable conversation to figure out where they go from there.

i dont mean to be this person, i love your videos but can u please record on a higher resolution because watching this on a computer or tv, is like watching someone play the last of us part one on a ps3 in 2014
Ypu having watched the show before this probably helped with accepting the catalyst for this story honestly. The show seems to have put more question on Joel's actions than the first game did, and caused more nuanced views of the story
Don't think it's been mentioned yet but the song Joel plays is called "Future Days" by Pearl Jam. Apparently Druckman is a superfan and sang this song to his kid when they were growing up. Great playthrough, can't wait to go on the rest of this wild emotional ride with you.
