Feels like after the first game they just didn’t have a story premise to continue with so they chose to kill Joel who is arguably the best character to make this a revenge story in a zombie world where the zombies are like pushed to the back and instead just regular human enemies are the main focus. Kind of how the walking dead got overtime. A lot of sex and sexual tones which wasn’t in the first one. You had slight romantic scenes but they took up 1000%. I think for me, this tells a story that I just don’t really care about and with characters who just aren’t enjoyable. You can also tell they wanted this to be a girls story which can be fine but if done right. This game is a apocalyptic lesbian love story that took everything good about the first games story and threw it out the window for this shitty revenge story that in the end you don’t really get any sort of satisfaction from. If you liked this game that’s good for you, but I think why a lot of people dislike or even hate it, is that the first and second game are like night and day. They are so polar opposite’s that if you were looking for more of what you got from the first game you’ll be severely disappointed. For the most part, I feel like you could play the 2nd game without playing the first and be okay because other then a few story plots here and there you don’t really need to know what happened in the first game.
