  1. Ornstein’s AI spamming electric butt slam like a “skilled” smash bros player

  2. Finally played the first dark souls on PC, after Elden Ring gave me something to work with as far as key bindings. I had a cracked int-based build running at the time, and I still remember the cutscene as just a REALLY badass pose

  3. This fight might be unfair and maybe it requires more luck than skill but it stills memorable and i really like it

  4. Man i m playing this Game for the second time just for fun and i beat them 2h ago trying it From time to time for six months, smough used his dumb running hammer attack 5 times in a row i was so mad 😂

  5. a massive help with this boss is to play with the camera unlocked, the four way rolling does you no favors if you play locked onto one of them at a time

  6. I killed these 2 for the first time the other day. I had to resort to hurling dung pies and kite them both for the whole fight. Smough went down first, then stood behind the pillars while Ornstein slowly died. By the end I had no estus flasks left.

  7. Who else here had this happen where you lose sight of ornstein and think you have an open window to hit smough. You get close to smough and go for a hit but a spear goes through smough and knocks you down. Meaning ornstein was behind smough all along.

  8. I'm triyng to beat this bosses. It's hard as fuck. I always try online , but we can't beat them

  9. In my honest opinion, I actually think Super Smough is harder. I can't count how many times I've been confident in the second phase only to get steam-rolled by an electric powered charge and smashed by an AOE buttslam bigger than the state of Texas. I also just prefer to kill Ornstein first because Smough is just cooler tbh.

  10. Gameplay wise, soul gathering is nothing but a good time however…
if you kill Smough first, Ornstein snatches up Smoughs soul. Something he could have never obtained for himself.
Ornstein grows in size and gains a new slam attack. In the process, he starts to laugh during the fight like Smough did.
This indicates that his soul is being plagued by Smough's. Which is unusual as we don't see that sort of thing happening normally.
Key difference here being "normally". There are other examples of soul eaters becoming infused with powers and qualities of their claimed souls, but
in this case we can confirm something in particular. Ornstein is not fit enough of a vessel to hold Smough's soul. Ornstein is clearly as risk of having his soul consumed internally.
I believe canonically in dark souls, you cannot claim great souls far bigger than your own without dilluting your soul to be like its.
That is why you probably shouldn't be consuming great souls as a level 1 undead.
This mechanic opens doors for many creatures and opportunities that we've actually already seen in the other titles up to now.
We have seen great souls go into possession of other entities, creating familarity that is undoubtable. Furthering this idea that souls have great influence on their hosts.

  11. The first time i played dark souls and when i reach this fight this shit was hard asf even with solaire and also the mf died before i killed ornstein and smough and well we killed smough first so yeah… I suffer… A lot

  12. They are manageble but if there is a summon, why not use the quality of Life Updates 🤣

  13. These 2 weren’t so bad. I just get smough next to a pillar and keep him there and to keep ornstein behind smough and the pillar.

  14. Kinda feel bad about this part, because I summoned 2 ghosts to help me, but I wasn't expecting them to completely take over the fight. I quite literally didn't have to do anything. The fight was over in like 3 minutes and I only took damage a couple times. Felt good to beat them, but you get so much shit in reward for beating this boss, and I didn't feel like I deserved it. I needed to suffer a little more.
