Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5. What’s going on guys? RBG here bringing you an update on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It feels so weird fixing my lips to even say that because its been quite a while since I’ve uttered this game’s title. Admittedly I’ve been lagging behind on reporting new things for it, leaving some of you to wonder if I’m even hyped for it. And for that I apologize, somewhere down the line I got wrapped up in other upcoming games that were coming down the pipeline. You guys already know I am a jack of all trades and can easily drift off into other things. Which can be a gift and a curse. But it helps me recalibrate and come back with a vengeance with coverage. Although things have been a little quiet with this title, there have been some things that have undoubtedly raised ears. If anything that quietness is a strong indication that Insomniac Games are hard at work with cooking up not only a noteworthy sequel to an already amazing title. But also reassure us that they’re dedicated to bringing us a solid superhero game that’s complete and free of predatory microtransactions and live service antics. Because for the past few years a lot of promising titles within the comic book genre have suffered under those practices. Like I’m not sure if you guys are aware but Rockysteady got a lot of fans looking at them sideways after seeing the recent leaks for Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League. I’m not gonna go into detail but let’s just say its not looking good. So the only hope we have for this next gen era of Superhero games is Insomniac Games.
And they just so happen to be working on two titles within that genre. Let’s not forget that they’re also working on Marvel’s Wolverine. Which apparently won’t be out anytime soon. In a new video released by PlayStation this week, the popular gaming brand outlined a number of big games that will be landing on both PS5 and PS4 throughout 2023. As expected, titles like Final Fantasy XVI, Street Fighter 6, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Resident Evil 4 were all mentioned within the video. However, Marvel’s Wolverine was notably missing, which seems to all but confirm that the game isn’t slated to launch before the end of the year. The trailer seems to debunk rumors that started late last year when Microsoft declared they expected the game to be released in 2023. This was released in a statement as part of their ongoing arguments to complete their acquisition of Activision. At the time it seemed unlikely the game would be released in the same year as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from the same studio, and Sony has now seemingly confirmed that the studio will be focusing on pushing one game out the door at a time. Although this news might be disappointing, it’s not that surprising for a number of reasons. For starters, when Marvel’s Wolverine was first announced, Insomniac Games stressed that the project was still in the very early stages of development.
