I'm still salty that we never got an official release in North America. Oh well, I have a reproduction copy 😀
Bought a brand new sealed French copy of this game, complete with its official guide, for 15€ about 10 years ago, never regretted my purchase! I can't remember much about the final version though, what differences are there in this demo?
Pretty sure the sound effects are different, as well as the very unpolished ring magic selection menu that pops up. Plus the borders around the player health appear to be green whereas they are golden in the retail release. Don't see much else… I don't remember climbing on the tower like that, though.
Also, that weird animation with hands appearing around Ark before he "resurrects" a continent never happened in the retail release, from what I remember. Thanks for posting this video, wish there was more.
one of the best snes games.
Wow never thought of seeing the Beta Version of my favourite game of all time. The Underworld Effect and Text is just looking so crisp and superb to the final version. I wonder if any code of the beta versions survived in some hidden basements. Only Tomoyoshi Miyazaki may know that. If anyone could get a hold of this man…
Pretty sure this beta is compiled on a computer, the graphics are not compressed and all around rather round and fluid.
A lot of Robotrek sound in the beta of Terranigma ahah. Thanks a lot for this video. 😁
