Lost in the Darkness
The series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

The show is already starting off with a bang. I'm so excited to see the rest of the episodes, and I'm already confident this show might be the best video game adaptation ever.

Everything was so well done. One thing I'm not seeing people mention is how much Gabriel Luna nailed Tommy's voice. At times I felt like Jeffery Pierce was dubbing him.

It was an alright episode like I had very low expectations for this show. It be interesting to see what happens in episode 3 because I head there gonna be radical changes to the narrative.

Ok I have never played the game but I have seen like 1000 videos on the lore and other stuff related to this game and the 1 episode is 100% like the game except for the old lady turning into a runner and not jimmy I think his name was right?

At 1:50 I happened to notice that the shape the fungus is making looks somewhat like the USA where the series takes place. I wonder if that represents how it spread. Or maybe it's just a coincidence not sure.

I love watching your reactions but no spoilers please. A lot of us are watching along that haven't played the game.
I think it allows for better storytelling if they don't constantly have to find excuses to remove the masks because we can't hear what they're saying or tell characters apart.

The infected grandma scene is very reminiscent to the first zombie encounter in Resident Evil
This was soooo good! They did such a great job with this first episode. Also the actress that plays Sarah is Thandie Newtons daughter. She did such a great job. 💜

I love that they have removed the spores. They were dumb as fuck in the game, basically we will all be dead in a week. Now they have those mycelium coming out of the mouth, which is more manageable to survive.
At the bare minimum……teenage yoda better show up in this.

The Night scene with Sarah, the Build up to the reveal of infected was so tense and creepy. The music for it, the plane crash, the acting in her death was perfectly done. Her death hit me even harder than the game
This premiere is proof they stayed so faithful to the game. Massive props to Neil, Craig, Playstation, Naughty Dog and HBO

I love it already and can't wait for Episode 2, I'm so curious to see Frank and Bill as well! Bella as Ellie and Pascal as Joel was the best casting I've seen on a video game adaption in ages! I love how they show us even more of Joel and Sarah's father-Daughter relationship, it made her death even worse!
