I could absolutely see Hojo figuring out what’s going on because he is the only character in Remake besides Sephiroth who isn’t scared of, annoyed by or taken aback by the Whispers. He immediately goes “What is this fascinating phenomenon?” He’s going to figure it out. It MIGHT even be the new inciting incident that causes him to quit Shinra like he does in OG

I'm so glad I am not the only one who thought about a third split timeline going on here, Though for me it was more about noticing that aside from the original CC Buster Sword, Reunion and Remakes Buster Sword cross guard are also different. Reunions Zack has a silver cross guard and Remakes Zack has a black cross guard for some reason and Cloud in Remake has the silver cross guard Buster Sword. And knowing Square it has a reason. Whatever that reason may be aside from there are three timelines with three possible different outcomes.
The video is fun to watch, and the games of FFVII is amazing. It's just that the community is so chaotic, I'm sick of explaining the same thing over and over again…..

I always thought that in the original timeline, cloud and friends somehow failed to stop meteor, so aerith restarted the timeline which is why cloud remembers that scene with the materia falling where we see aerith and he keeps seeing more visions that's just my theory tho

Sephiroth gained the knowledge and unlocked away to travel back in time via the lifestream to change his destiny, Aerith becomes aware of this and tries to stop him by gaining the help from her friends she made during their journey in Og FFVII, she wanted to help Cloud against the man who plagues his fractured mind Sephiroth, and to stop Sephiroth from becoming reborn, Sephiroth failed with the remnants, and now seeks a new vessel for his potential rebirth, Lifestream White/Black Act III
Sephiroth wanted Cloud defeat the three whispers, to return them to the lifestream, to corrode it further, while Aerith returned to the plain of the living to journey once more with her friends from Og FFVII, the new unknown journey of FFVII has begun.
Or basically we're at the mercy of Nomura and co to hopefully give us a great game.

I don't think they know anything that's going on anymore. They saw visions but after the arbiter of fate was destroyed, I think all that was just erased. That's why it's an unknown journey now. I think nobody in game knows what's going to happen. Not even buggenhagen or sephiroth. Things will play out differently. Different timeline than OG, but nothing is now known.
I'm a simple guy. Zack was my favorite since I started with crisis core. I'm glad there's a timeline where he lives on.

I actually needed this video, a lot. After I beat FF7RE I was confused as fuck. This helps breakdown the timeline changes I didn't know about..

Not sure if anyone else noticed this but in the end credits trailer Cloud's eyes are VERY blue.
Fourth timeline: cloud knows somewhere out there with the lifestreams magic that aeris is still alive. Or will find her even in death. He makes a deal with hades to look in the underworld for her and after not finding her travels between planets and meets our heroes sora, Donald, goofy and Hercules and find out she’s still alive and in twilight town. After some help from sora they fight hades and his minions and eventually cloud finds his freedom and reunites with aeris. Sora is happy to help his friend and is encouraged on his own journey looking for kairi and riku.
Wait what? Is Zack really alive in the end of Reunion? Because in the end of VII Remake it's looks like he died so that Cloud could live
What if…. the Rebirh and part 3 almost has the same story as OG but…. after part 3 they will release a new FF7 game where the timeline is where Zack lives.

4:30 I think there's still enough evidence to suggest there's not a 3rd timeline and that zack may have just been time displaced from the end of crisis core to the moment the whispers were defeated after the team left midgar in remake……….BUT we have no way of knowing for sure until rebirth probably.
I find it funny how back when Max played Dirge, at around 9 hours and 40 minutes into it, he said something along the lines of "We need to go back in time and make it so this game never happened".

I don't speak Japanese, but something that I haven't seen anyone discuss related to Sephiroth in Remake is that, during his monologue before fighting Cloud at the end of Remake (before the whole 7 seconds before the end speech), in Japanese, Sephiroth uses the pronoun "Ore" to refer to himself. This is important, because this is how Sephiroth used to talk BEFORE losing his mind after finding the truth in the Nibelheim mansion. Post-mental breakdown mommy Sephiroth always uses the more detached pronoun "Watashi" to refer to himself. Listen to Sephiroth speak in Crisis Core, then listen to him speak in Advent Children.
Obviously this is a detail that is lost in translation/localization, as English doesn't use 2 different first person singular pronouns.
I don't know how relevant this will be, but to me, this is a sign that, perhaps, there's more than one Sephiroth trying to change things. For what end? Beats me, we'll see.
Or maybe it's just a bunch of hogwash and I'm just reading too much into it. Maybe it means absolutely nothing.

All we asked for was a game that retold the story of FF7 with super updated graphics, a few FMVs, and a good engine. But instead, we get Matrix meets Inception meets Butterfly Effect meets Project Journeyman meets Looper meets Back to the Future meets Ghost. LOL.

Just for the sake of the argument, assuming that the three-timelines-theory is something Square intends to use to toy with the players' minds, could it be possible to see at some point in the story (maybe in the third new-FF7s) those three timelines merge and get a fight opposing Sephiroth to FF7R Cloud, FF7AC Cloud and Zack-from-the-timeline-where-he-gets-back-to-Midgar-alive ? Again, completely theoretical. Not saying that would be a smart move, just asking…
