Yeah the original characters routes didn't take off till chapter 5 so their material is limited. The new guys are looking good so far but they have to get their backstory filled so they fit into the game. I guess we just have to wait for the 2nd part to see how things turn out.
What are your thoughts on the game being split in two?
I kind of felt conned when I first heard about it. They released the original version of Hakuouki with slight variations on so many different platforms, you'd think they'd milked it enough. I mean the new characters and routes look great, but I see little justification for there being two games priced at 39$ or whatever considering most of the content is old (sorry, "remastered"). Plus the weird cliffhanger is probably bewildering to new and old players alike.
Btw I feel the same way about some of the new outfits. Some people really do look like side characters now.
besides the clothing change (when they go to western clothing) I have an even bigger issue with the hair!!! I've always thought that when a samurai got his hair cut it's suppose to mean dishonor??🤔 I've seen loads of japanese (style) movies and seen that several times… So either I'm going crazy or it really doesn't make sense for them to cut their hair!! 😑😅 And I personally loveeeee the other hairstyles of them better anyways 😂😍

Have you played, Bakumatsu Shinsegumi? I downloaded it free from the App Store. It's a different story and hijikata gets naked!

They split the original version into two parts with little change, 風ノ章 and 華ノ章, then publish the combination of the two new games, called 風華章 (.
