    Battle mechanic was great, story was good, but Square making it in 3 parts, and the corridors system a and sidequests are so disaponting…., 10 years of developments fot this is so disapointing…, especialy when you compare this game to such as Elen Ring or Skyrim….seeing our loved characters was great nevertheless. but square is not the same company i knew back in 1997…, all their creativity and passion are gone. and thats a shame…
    I wanted a Xenogear remake so badly for years, but seing ff7 remake i better not to….especialy if i have to buy 5 games to finish the story.. not even consodering buying ff16 at this point.

    Even if it was a 1:1 remake .. the "magic" wouldn't be there. I'm holding full judgement until at least the second bit… so with less then 1/3rd of the story out.. all I can really comment on is the gameplay. Which is ?fine?.

    I have mixed feelings about the remake. Other than that, I have a feeling that this takes place in an alternate universe. That theory aside, I hope Cloud and Yuffie cross paths so they can help each other as team members of Cloud's party. Also, Cait Sith looks so cute!❤🧡💛💚💙💜

    All I wanted was a REMAKE from a game called Final Fantasy VII Remake. Not an alternate history. Update graphic maybe patch some plot holes with some dumb excuses. And bam. Controversial opinion: FF7 wasn’t that good to begin with. It was a servicable game that many look back fondly because it was their first FF game but I played the original NES game I don’t have those memories clouding my judgement and it was the start of the horrible retro-futuristic setting which is hit or miss (a lot more misses)

    I thought this game was wonderful and can’t wait for the second part in the remake series. For reference my first Final Fantasy was 4 back on the SNES (or 2 back then lol). Too many fans now days are easily butt hurt because the franchise “doesn’t live up to their expectations “. As a long term fan I disagree wholeheartedly. Every Final Fantasy (mainline at least) is great just in very different ways. Final Fantasy as a series has always been about change. If you don’t understand that, then that’s more on you than the games. Maybe go play a western RPG instead? Save the good and innovative stories for us people who enjoy them.

    When I first beat this game I immediately went outside to work on digging my patio, and the meditation of labor did wonders for me organizing my thoughts. I absolutely hated the ending, not because they changed things, which would be reasonable since they claimed it was going to be a faithful remake and it’s clearly some KH time travel nonsense. What I hated was that there are no stakes, virtually everyone we encounter lives and only numbers of nameless die off screen. Worse still is that it takes the game we fell in love with, that we came to re-experience along with new players who aren’t into older games, and it treats it as if it was the “bad ending” and only by doing it all right can we get the good ending. All the meaning behind the tragedy of the OG game is washed away in place of this kid gloves crap. That said, as time has passed, I’m more ok with it, I still believe everything I thought them I just care a whole lot less, and maybe what they do with it will end up actually being cool, but my expectations are shot. If part 2 looks good I’ll give it a chance but I found most of what they added to be mindless time wasting filler and most of the changes to feel pretentious, so yeah, happy to be proven wrong but I won’t be getting my hopes up.
