[Changes]

My previous SL1 guide(https://youtu.be/km6y1bDr52o) was done on the Prepare to Die edition, which had(and still has) an item duplication glitch that can be used to gain infinite amounts of humanity and souls. This glitch was patched in the remaster so I had made some necessary changes to reflect this.

[Weapons]

Instead of the Chaos/Lightning Reinforce Club, this guide uses a Pyromancy Flame and the Giant Blacksmith Hammer. Since humanity is going to be a finite resource having a chaos weapon would be a bad idea. Also farming for material is going to take longer since you cannot dupe homeward bones anymore. This route requires almost no farming(besides poison/blood moss farming, but the drop rate is so high that it will take no time) and requires 0 embers to upgrade.

[Spell setup]

Instead of using Great Fireball, this guide uses Great Combustion. While slightly lacking in damage the GC has twice the usage and half the cast time. I have also incorporated Power Within which I have neglected in my previous guide. With all the possible buff(Dusk Crown, Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring, Red Tearstone Ring, and Power Within), you can use Fire Tempest to One-Shot nearly all bosses in Dark Souls, including Kalameet.

[Q&A]

– I’m not really into summoning NPCs on SL1. Is there any other way of killing Qualaag early?

You can get a +5 reinforced club before Qualaag, but it’s going to be a waste of precious time and souls. You can also just use the +0 hand axe. It will take a long time but with 10 estus and humanities, it is certainly possible. Use the R2s exclusively as it will do superior damage over the R1s.

– I’m not really into pyromancy, is there any alternative?

You can watch my previous guide and swap the Pyro Flame to the Chaos(or Fire) Reinforced Club. Its definitely going to be harder tho.

  1. The time has come. I’m going to try it as an actual guide for my first ever SL1 run. Wish me luck!

  2. this is actually an incredible guide, helped me do my first SL1 run in any souls game. TY ymfah 🙂

  3. killing the giant blacksmith was the only time I cried in any souls game

  4. Definitely go back to Asylum and get the Iron Ring. It makes the waterlogged areas much easier to navigate. Worth doing at the start of the game.

  5. You can also farm dragon scales for dragon form. Easy 400+ damage without even upgrading any gear.

  6. You can also do a really good low level sl 21 build so you can use black magic for ng+ if you decide you want to keep playing at a low sl but you want to expand your choices more. You can also get the chaos zweihander for even more options at sl 21…

  7. omfg did i hear a videogamedunkey reference during the fight with queelag

  8. This would be nice……if the Quelaag fight actually happened like this – it does not. 13 humanity wasted so far, Mildred isn't doing any damage to Quelaag, she never attacks and gets stuck. Kinda defeats the purpose of this vid when it's almost the 1st step.

  9. How soulless you have to be to kill the Giant Blacksmith.
Nope, I am gonna watch some of your other videos. This is not the way.

  10. So at 13:16 are you supposed to have enough souls based on boss consumables an pickups? Or how are u supposed to have enough to upgrade it to +15

  11. I won't lie, as a Canuckistani with East Coast roots, Ordinary Day montage made my night. And it's an apt description for what's going on. LOL

  12. hearing blessed and possessed at the beginning of a ymfah video is so comforting

  13. Somehow I knew the "Ordinary day" montage would belong to Manus. I beat this game so many times and I still am not entirely sure what my strategy against him is. I just summon Sif and idk, shit myself I guess.

  14. Oh my god Dark Souls is abandonware. I returned to find the servers shut down and after 5 minuets of trouble shooting restarting the file manager was necessary for my controller to be detected. I love dark souls this is really sad. They are major problems there's no sign these problems are getting fixed. I hope they come back but the devs seem to of abandoned us.

  15. Is Mildred being op only a thing in the Remaster? Because I tried using her in the Prepare to Die version of the game and she barely lasted against spider-waifu

  16. If anyone is struggling with Mildred to kill Qaelaag, upgrade the Morningstar to +5 and unlock The Power Within before you fight Qaelaag (it is in Blighttown), then just use Mildred until Qaelaag is half health and then leave the safe spot, activate power within and finish her off.
You can also quit out after Mildred dies to revive her.
