Well, my latest video is taking longer to write than expected (curse you social obligations!), so instead of releasing a full video we’re just going to goof off in Dark Souls 3 instead. Do a little chit chatting, maybe talk about what last year brought and what next year brings. Who knows?

  1. You mentioned a dagger run earlier. My first and only run of DS3 was a starting-dagger only run, because I wanted to force myself to truly git gud at the game. It was rough, but very doable and a lot of fun at the same time! My first roadblock was Abyss Watchers. I got stuck, looked up help and people say they stagger easily so they're not too hard. Dagger no stagger, that fight is pain. Pontiff was my next roadblock, although phase 2 is easier.

Sister Friede took me 6 hours – my biggest hurdle in all of soulsborne except for first time Malenia with a slow strength build w/ no summons or ashes of war, which I gave up on after 6 hours. Demon Prince and Midir are both VERY long fights with just a dagger. 10+ minutes for each.

Slave Knight Gael with the base dagger though? The pinnacle of the entire series for me. Completely mastering the fight was necessary as his health bar is massive and the dagger is smol, but when he's that fun to fight, mastering him was really the best fun I had in the entire FS catalog.

  2. Sick Lemon, I missed the stream but I'm gonna watch now

  3. sacred flame looks like it was built with ds1 poise in mind with how often you get smacked out of casting it

  4. I know this is after the stream and probably won't be seen but for Elden Ring, ignore the camps, ignore most siege towers, most of the military stuff. There's hardly any loot and a lot of enemies. Elden Ring is better in the later game but it's only alright, it's nice to have something fresh but still like the original Dark Souls better

  5. 2 AM caught a live stream?! GO TO BED!
Me wathing the saved video at 2:46 AM: ooookkkkeeyyy…

  6. I would have to say the Darksouls as a D&D party would ether need to be ran in Darksouls 2 or a modded Darksouls 3 due to the need to increase HP, I bring this up because DS2 has some character level based HP and you would need to make DS3 do the same through a mod if you wanted that.

  7. 6:07 "It's cost me my soul"
Wow how many times have you sold your soul already and I wonder what the showdown for ownership of your soul between the entities that own your soul will look like. Will they have to use the gimmicks that you sold your soul for lol

  8. You did inspire me to do an elden ring challenge run. It was hard at first but then it got easier, the only hard part is timing.

  9. Clears less than an eighth of the game, only an optional area. "Lore is confusing."
    Backlogs, plz. Don't do a 100% for a first playthrough, that's insane.

  10. today i learned, sacred flame grab priority is proximity based. interesting.
thx for the cool run, wish you well!

  11. Hey Lemon, happy new year in advance, have you ever heard about Outward? It's a really nice and hardcore game (at least for me) don't need to cover up, just if you heard about it. Have a really nice new year my man, I adore your content and you are awesome, I'm glad you exist in this world 😊.

  12. man i remember fucking people with the thrall axe sacred flame glitch way back when. good times

  13. You know, I like Elden Ring more than DS3 (which, for context, is my least favorite of the trilogy) but I still haven't beaten it because I keep finding my runs turn into one of two things: "This weapon feels egregiously overpowered" or "this weapon doesn't feel very rewarding to use." My damage: effort ratio just always feels wrong, whether it's doing way too much damage, or not enough, for any particular given unit of effort. I don't know that it's actually particularly better or worse in this regard than the Dark Souls games, mind you, but there's so much combat that exists basically for its own sake in a lot of runs that the feeling has time to build up until I just end up disengaging with the run and trying to find a new one that feels better.

  14. Tips for the lord of cinder? Max level good weapon and it is ez lol (does not apply to ng+ XD)

  15. "We're at 4 and a half hours, going to 6, depending on how long my voice lasts"
Best trick to get out of talking with the wife after the family filled holidays.
