Today, we’re talking about how NieR: Automata completely changed my perspective on the world and made me think in a different way. It gave my life a separate meaning that I didn’t know were there. This game has one of the most incredible stories I’ve experienced and I hope you enjoy what I have to share about it.

One of my favorite games of all time. NieR is one hell of a series that makes you feel a ton of emotions along the games, and is one of the few games I played all over again and found more surprises. NieR Replicant is also incredible and you should definitely try it as well.
The fact that this game tells a story in a way only a videogame can and no other media could replicate automatically makes one of the best, if not the best stories ever told in videogames
This game literally altered my perspective in life. It's unlike anything I've ever played. Thank you for this video, amazing job!
best game ever made until you get ending A and then you have to beat it again and then you to run around doing tower fetch quests in the same areas you already beat twice for 3 hours and then you have to replay the same boss fight twice to get the 2 different endings and honestly the reused content is just unbearable. the credits sequence was sick though
Thanks man, I also enjoyed this game. The gameplay is truly up there amongst the most memorable.
Love Automata dearly but if anyone's hyped for more of Yoko Taro's works I'd really recommend playing the Nier Replicant remake on Steam and maaayyybe Drakengard 3 if you don't care about framerates and are willing to endure a game that does everything in it's power to make you hate it on the first playthrough.
A-lot of his older games have novel adaptations and manga spin offs too if you want to avoid playing the jankiest PS2 games known to man or want some of that lore in your veins.
Amazing fren, well said.
Still the greatest story I’ve seen in any medium. No story has ever immersed me and impacted me so much.
NieR: Automata is probably my favorite game storywise, I know you said you didn't get into research about all the storylines and phylosophical stuff it makes reference, but you should, it's going to blow your mind even more. Pascal's and Simone's stories are impactfull as hell. Without going into spoilers, it's just, oof, I want to cry just remembering
About two weeks ago, I found out that this game was on switch. I obviously purchased it and I couldn't believe the graphics, OST, story that it conveyed to its players. I haven't finished yet since I am midway through Route B and playing it with my 7 year old sister (I am 18) who takes the left joy con when we explore only (its like pacific rim where u have two pilots controlling the same robot). Haven't cried yet as it has not hit me hard but it is depressing asf.
However I never wanted a switch and wished for a ps4 instead from about 2 years ago because it was cheaper and had the mature games I really wanted (Spiderman, GOW, Souls games). I wanted my mother to return it as she had got me the switch as a Christmas present. Thus, my console just sat in the same spot without me touching it for 2 years straight as I did not like Mario and other first party Nintendo games.
After finishing my final high school exams this year to then move into college, I wanted to sell the switch to get money for the ps4. But a question raised in my head "should I be grateful for at least getting gifted a nice console in everyone's eyes that I deemed obsolete because I didn't get the one I wanted?" Hence, I actually decided to keep the switch and next thing I knew was that I purchased games with my own money like the Bayonetta trilogy, DBFZ, NFS Hot Pursuit, and eventually Nier Automata: The End of Yorha Edition. Although I won't get to play the souls game I really wanted like Sekiro, Elden Ring, or Dark Souls 3 on the switch, at the very least Dark Souls Remastered is on the switch port. So I am glad that I stuck with the switch otherwise I couldn't have discovered Nier Automata at all since it got famous on the port as soon as it released. But ye, this game is greatest one I have played.
The amusement park is my favorite area in all of the video games I have played. The music and atmosphere are just so beautiful and the bossfight is so fun
I had no interest in this game, but I just might get it now
This game beat every expectation I had for it
Even tho games like nier and Dark souls are not the most ambitious I've ever seen, their identity really make them special. It's a bit like Hayao Miyazaki's movies.
It is more than 4 years since I went through the same emotions you are describing. Nier:Automata ruined gaming in a sense for me, as there will never be anything like it I am afraid (not even the predecessor, which was not half as good, at least for me).
The entire story revolved around “god” being dead and the importance of our own actions, combined with the best 4th wall break of all time was just too much.
If you liked this one you should play nier replicant.
When you combine a great storyteller and increadible game studio you create a masterpiece. Thank you Yoko Taro and Platinum Games for creating the best game I have ever played. Oh and I gotta give credits to Keichii Okabe for composing the best music I have ever heard in a video game.
This games makes you feel emotions you didn't even know existed, I am sorry mate i can't watch this video. And tbh it's kinda opposite of dark souls for me where j just can't bring myself to talk about it.
Crying at a video game is not embarressing. A story, regardless of medium, at makes you feel something, is a triumph. Never ever apologize for being human
There's no perfect piece of art or entertainment.
But Automata is so close it hurts.
Even its imperfection makes it the unique experience it is.
Game of its generation… and the true Citizen Kane of video games.
Sadly is no longer on pass and I’m broke ):
Nier automata is one of the best games ever. The way it goes over philosophers and existentialism. The way it brings hope to it all and the way it goes over why we truly live instead of giving up. It's a masterpiece in every single way. I was sobbing at the end of ending E. I really want more people to play it
Time for you to play nier replicant, have box of tissues ready
now play nier replicant, youll feel another whole wave of emotions
I played NieR: Automata quite recently in July, a week or so after I beat elden ring (was mainly looking for a game that could have fulfill my emptiness after beating elden ring lmao).
Well it fullfilled my emptiness and destroyed me in every possible way 💀now im planning to buy replicant as its currently on sale on steam
You should do a video on replicant, the original is my favorite game of all time
ADD A SPOILER WARNING PLEASE FOR THE NEW PLAYERS
Fun fact: There is a Nier Automata Anime coming out and it's gonna be on air in January 2023
I bought this game on sale and can't wait to give it a shot! I've heard nothing but good things about it and this just reaffirms all I've heard
Thank god I'm not alone in this sentiment I shit you not this game change me into a more hopeful person and made me believe in God because it showed me that human is a kind caring creature and its creator a benevolent one
I recomend you to play Nier Replicant
Sadly i didn't even get emotional at any part of the game
I felt stupid the more i follow the story 😅
if you are interested in lore make sure to read drakengard series lore too and its connection to nier series.
I beat the first boss and ended up on some space station…. then Elden Ring came out.. so since then no.. i didnt played it further.
Shii man, I played this during the pa***mic, and it definitely made that moment in time not suck.
i wish more people known about this game, the ending (E) is such an impact full moment that at least to me haz never being topped, and i being playing since 98, it also make me questioning things about my own life and values, it took me like half an hour to confirm my decision about erasing all my data to help other random player, after that everything in real life feels different for some moments, im usually more attracted to gameplay but this game story just hits you like no other (and also haz a really fun gameplay in general) truly a masterpiece
Wow, I really need to get back into NieR. I got the game years ago, played it for a few weeks, dropped it and after a few months got back into it and after about 2 missions I beat the game. Idk what ending I got but it definitely wasn't the true ending. I also only saw A2 one time in the castle and never saw her again.
I played this game for about 5 hours and found it extremely boring. Could not get into it
I really like how you’re adding insights from your own life into these videos, to me it makes them a lot more intresting. I’ve heard of this game but now I have to add it to my list. Also great outro man xd
Same made me feel young again
I wanna hear your take on The Outer Wilds 🙂
Trust me, there are so many more games like this that you have to try
i gotta finally play this while i have time, after sekiro
Nier Automata + Replicant changed my perspective on gaming and gaming as a medium for in-depth emotional storytelling. In Automata it was the philosophical themes and with Replicant it was the characters and their struggles that won me over.
Damn bro, I'm in a tough position, see I bought this game a while back and it didn't grab me like most.. The problem is I don't know if this video would spoil the game for me if I ever did decide to pick it back up, or if it will inspire me to pick it back up asap
Sounds like I gotta boot this up and beat it in 2023.
Peach and I teared up quite a few times playing this.
Mama Mia.
🍄
Definitely the most impactful story for me. I too don’t really care for the story in games, it’s not what attracts me, but this one just hits different. Still get those feeling just thinking about the game.
