Our last video was an analysis of The Last of Us Part II’s narrative. In this episode I actually review the game with, you know, jokes and stuff. They say the best medicine is laughter, and after this depressing game I think we could all use a little memes. #tlou2 #TheLastOfUs #NaughtyDog

  1. People can stop explaining The Lord of the Rings to us. The point of the joke is that all of the plot hole questions we asked are easily answered because they aren't plot holes. Apparently my extreme sarcasm and Touch Fuzzy Get Dizzy music wasn't obvious enough 😂

  2. I watched Jacksepticeye's playthrough until Joel's death, then I walked away from it. But I just accepted that the story they are telling this time is not one I want to watch, I wouldn't just claim the game is bad or harass people who like it or people who made it… The ones doing that are psychopaths.

  3. I mean after all those games make you feeling awesome and exciting, I would love some sad stories, and tlou2 story is perfectly writen in my eye. and i love to have no multiple ending at end, because if there is other choices player will never choice bad ending. does anyone ever choose bad ending in the witcher 3, lord of frenzy in eldenring, or genocide ending in undertale. Remember player did not have a choice to make joel not killing fireflies at the end in the first game, and I believe the story of first and second game are already planned out at very beginning.

  4. I also didn't get the hate this game got other than man boys wishing the playable characters were grizzled bearded men

  5. When Ellie got home at the very end and her family was gone and went to play her guitar and couldn’t because she didn’t have the fingers anymore had me scream-crying in the club

  6. Don’t we all just LOVE that YouTube took away the thumbs-down button so that everyone here still has a voice and videos are correctly represented?

  7. Looting while playing yourself is a lot funner than watching someone do it !

  8. The difference between the 1st and the 2nd game is that it is abundantly clear as to why Joel saves Ellie, it’s NOT as clear as to why Ellie spares Abby. The line of demarcation is clearly defined in the 1st and not in the 2nd. That is what makes the 2nd game harder to swallow.

  9. Funny how I’ve read some comments from people who said Joel would never trust a random stranger to go to their hideout but in the first game he agreed to go with Henry and Sam to their hideout and he also didn’t have to deal with a shit ton of infected at that time.

  10. First video I’ve seen from this channel, and it’s super entertaining, well written and quick editing, and y’all made some great points. I hate this game, but I can definitely see how others enjoyed it. Thanks, random comment on Dunkey video that brought me here.

  11. Last of us 2 is my game of the year of 2022. I really enjoyed the game and I don't care what all the haters say. I certainly don't see avengers endgame getting review bombed because they killed iron man, so shut up haters and let me enjoy the last of us 2.

  12. Joel wasn't that stupid to tell strangers his name…it was Tommy. Look it up, he said it to Abby when they were running away from zombies.

  13. Gears Of War music theme when Abigail is on screen killed me so hard.. 😀

  14. People keep saying that "Ellie did not get Revenge," well I would like to concur by asking what's your narrow minded definition of the word revenge? Killing the friends and man that Abby is in love with is indeed Revenge. Revenge is a dead Woman's Game so I guess beating the Abby until she is at the last inch of her life is just the best way to defeat her if you really think about it. The Last of Us 2 is only deemed a great story by the people who are strong enough to stomach it. I for one take it for what it is, A Tragedy nothing more…

  15. This is the most honest review ever. I just finished the game and this just made me completely understood. I'm still thinking about this game a weak after finishing. And that moment when you're Ellie killing Abby, I didn't want to do it either. It felt like someone was forcing me to do it. It was the worst feeling ever which made it such a rollercoaster of a game. Incredible! The game and this video!

  16. Lies Told About TLOU 2

    1. "JOEL GIVE HIS NAME TO ABBY"

It was Tommy, to build trust so they can survive.

We cannot argue this decision because it was in a life-or-death situation.

You don't have time to think in situations like this.

    2. "FOLLOW ABBY WAS A STUPID IDEIA"

Joel and Tommy were surprised by the zombie horde. It was a blizzard and they couldn't get back to Jackson.

The only chance to survive was accept Abby's help. Otherwise both Joel and Tommy would be dead.

    3. "JOEL AND TOMMY COULD FIGHT OR RUN AWAY"

They had ZERO ammo after the horde's fight. The only solution is to be friendly.

After all, they had just saved a member of their group.

With zero ammo and no chance to run out because the blizzard they had no chance against 10 armed people.

    4. "JOEL TRUSTED ABBY"

BIG NO. He never trusted her. He wanted to go back to Jackson and Tommy stopped him because they wouldn't make it because the storm.

When they arrived at the mansion, Joel didn't even want to unsaddle the horse to show that he wouldn't stop long.

He asked questions like, "What are they doing here? How they get electricity?"

However, when you are in this situation if u look to suspicious u can be attacked just because of that.

    5. "5 YEARS DOESN'T MAKE 20 YEARS OF SURVIVAL FORGOTTEN"

This is by far the one that shocks me the most! Everyone who makes this statement didn't understand the first game. In the first game Joel in 1 year changed ALOT.

This is the beauty of the TLOU story that a lot of people didn't realize. For example, when Joel arrives in the hospital tunnels and Elie is unconscious, Joel ignore orders

from armed soldiers to save Elie, he could have died trying to protect Elie. This isn't the Joel of his early 20s who didn't care about anyone. Joel at the end of TLOU1

he is a changed man who is willing to do anything for Elie (he killed the entire hospital in a suicidal act). Just 1 year of living with Elie

for Joel to have changed. 5 years of living in Jackson with Elie made even more changes in Joel.

It is true that he did not forget who he was but he was a completely changed Man. Comparing Joel from the prologue to Joel from part 2 is just stupid.

    6. "JOEL SHOULD CHANGE HIS NAME / HIDE IN A MOUNTAIN"

Joel is not HIDDEN! Jackson is the worst place for a fugitive to HIDE. They invite strangers to come in and be part of their community. They do trades

with strangers. They save people on the outskirts of town and invite them to stay. How someone can hide in a place like this? Impossible!

So why didn't Joel did like Bill, live in a abandoned city full of traps? Because of Elie! Joel wanted Elie to have a normal life, in a community, with friends, girlfriend, etc.

He wanted to have a father/daughter relationship that he didn't had with Sara. That's why he chose this community.

And he didn't change his name for Elie not be even more suspicious. Was he in danger of being caught? Yea! But he did it for Elie.

    7. "JOEL KNEW THAT REVENGE ARE COMMING"

NO. It's been 5 years. Maybe in the first 2/3 years Joel was more alert but after 5 years living his "GOOD" life is perfect normal that He get more relaxed.

Fireflies don't even exist anymore. Most were killed ( including The Boss and the only one capable of creating the vaccine).

He is 300 miles away from the hospital. After 5 years, only someone who is very obsessed with revenge may still be looking for him (Abby)

  17. Love this game. The first one made my top 5. But 2 is fantastic. Still haven’t heard a complaint I can take serious.

  18. Though we Last of us Fans knew that a man like Joel, with his kill count alone and what he did for the world, obviously he wouldn't meet the happy ending he wants as there is no redemption for what he has done but!
That was so abrupt and sudden. Atleast let the madman go out the way he wants to and that's killing bad guys and just start blasting his way to deaths door. That was the weakest we've seen Joel and yes he's old but c'mon man. I WANNA SEE JOEL KICK ASS

  19. The one thing I would've like to see done differently by the Devs is that I wish the player would have been saddled with the decision of what to do with Abby at the end. I think it would've gone a long way to realizing the consequences to the decision.

  20. i think girlfriend reviews contracted Stockholm Syndrome with the game dragging and forcing you through its deliberate and agenda driven narrative and gaslighting you into believing you chose to kill dogs and pregnant people.

its plain manipulative storytelling, and there's no way you can defend it completely. you can defend what they tried to accomplish, what they attempted. but if you dont do it with skill and expertise, its ameturish writing and a wanna be angsty writer stuff.

a similar but 100 times better done double perspective was RRR. just see the night and day difference between these, and see where writeres were in over their heads and did gimmicks to prove that they were elite and where the writers focused on the experience of the viewer instead of manipulating them.

  21. I just finished this game yesterday. I am one of those people who were unhappy with the direction this game took, but I am not going to rant about it or send death threats to anybody. I wanted Joel and Ellie to deepen their relationship in the second part, but alas, that did not happen. My biggest complain is that I have to play for person who murdered Joel with golf club. I simply did not want to play as her, although her gameplay was cool, and her story was…well, not really that bad. Also, Joel saved her life, and she killed him anyway. Those two kids saved her life too, but there were probably no golf clubs around, so she instead decided to try her best to help them. Yes I know, Joel killed her father, but he gave him a chance first to walk away from Ellie, and that guy just decided not to and paid the consequences. I dont feel sorry for him.
I dont care that there are lesbian, bisexual and trans characters. I am glad that AT LEAST Lilly identified herself as Lev – a male, and not some unknown gender, all genders, or something like that, that would make me revolt too, but this was at least understandable. Thank you for the great review and I am sorry that I have to read that you too get death threats for it…. thats just plain stupid in my book.

  22. I don’t think there’s anything objectively WRONG with tlou2. The gameplay and level design was top tier, and most of the story was fine. My only complaint is that I like games that let the characters be a vehicle for the player, that’s not to say that you need full control over the characters actions and the story, but as a developer, the players mindset should be kept in mind when writing the story.

For example, at the end of the first game, you have no control over Joel making the decision to save Ellie (even if it means possibly dooming the world) and while I could see the argument that it’s the wrong choice, the player has bonded to Ellie as much as Joel has over the course of the game, and it’s not unreasonable to assume that many players would make the same choice if it were offered to them.

The end of tlou2 is similar in approach but very different in circumstances and execution. I know that the devs spent half of the game setting up Abby to be in a position where some players like her or understand her better, and I don’t have a problem with that at all, it’s similar to what halo 2 does with arbiter and I think it’s an interesting plot device if nothing else. And while I did come to understand Abby and her position much better, there is no guarantee that it redeems her actions to the eyes of the player, it certainly didn’t for me (and clearly many others) and so Ellie deciding to spare her is a huge departure from the choice that many players would make in that scenario.

I don’t hate the game for it, but it is a greatly unsatisfying ending for me as a player. It feels like if John Wick got to the guy that killed his dog and then let him go.

The end of Tlou1 wasn’t controversial because it was so morally gray, I think everyone would say that Joel was justified in saving Ellie from his perspective, but the “right” choice may have been to leave her. I think the end of tlou2 may have been better received if Ellie had killed Abby in the end because she would’ve been justified in doing so (mirroring Joel in the first game) but you are left wondering if you made the “right” choice, or if it made anything better. Idk just my take, I enjoyed the game either way

  23. God I love your videos! Pepepopo! If you reviewed mass effect that would make it so I could die happy

  24. We don't do that here out of ten has to be the best dang rating I've ever heard of. You guys rule.

  25. I think we should also take into consideration that people that had someone else to be commenting about art and cracking jokes with during the whole playthrough had indeed a very different experience than the ones that fully immersed themselves in this depressing masterpiece.

  26. I love the set pieces for Abby ! and really was put off by Ellie and her selfishness. . but my biggest issue is the gameplay . As a game , something had to improve, especially for a 25 hour slog of alternate groups of humans and infected …. . and also for a movie , no player * viewer * has any choice in their decision * consumption * , …if this was an "anti- violence" game and if they had given the player a better way to "play" it instead of
"watch" it ……….(it is notably funny how you compare this "game"'s director to less "interactive " medium's – * movie *directors…..when it came to plot-holes; – and yes , i can forgive an 8 month old pregnant medic can take a beating in a post apocalyptic , infected world – the only "plot hole:" for me here is the philosophy of this "game " and the actual "gameplay" ! !.)……. , then i would've liked it more , but ,….NO, Kojima made that- better " game" ….long time ago.

  27. I've thought about it. I feel the last of us 2 has missed potential. I fully expected Joel to die I just was hoping it would be a playable version of Tess's last stand with only his revolver later in the game after having some angry Joel and Ellie adventures. Have him save Ellie as his final act after losing himself once again to revenge and loss over the course of the game (have Tommy die in the intro) his last act being one of love for his surrogate daughter would be a form of personal redemption at least in his eyes. His death is what makes Ellie give up revenge as that's what led to Joel's death and she hears back to Jackson only to find it burning and in the middle of getting attacked by Abbie and the remainders of her crew as revenge for Joel and Ellie actions. The last chapter is Ellie trying to save who she can while seeing first hand the destruction that comes from revenge and anger.

  28. Regardless of whether or not you liked the direction they took Part 2, there is no denying that there has never been a video game in history that grips or moves you as much as this one will. That in itself is truly remarkable. The emotional roller coaster that you're forced to go on by playing this game makes it legendary. I hated having to play as Abby, I hated the way they progressed the story into such a dark place, and it broke my heart from beginning to end. Well done! I'm off to call my therapist.

  29. Last of us 2 is one of the best games I've ever played, such games are very rare and i hope people play it and not judge it by some bad reviews or comments on the internet

  30. Meh , the 1st game was a decent 7/10 , and this game's story is so horrible . The most miserable experience with video games i had in recent times.

  31. It’s a shame the Reddit drama and the vocal minority took awareness away from the game’s actual flaws and the awful writing.

Abby beating shit up was so cool and satisfying. Fun way to shake up gameplay.

  32. Eh the games story just didn't accomplish what it set out to do well enough. Maybe if we had full game with Abby without knowing anything else and part 3 was the culmination? Maybe? But as it stands good gameplay that I skip all the cutscenes for and play with voices muted.
