I’m giving Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp a good ol’ college try. I want to know if this game is actually good, or if it’s a soulless seratonin-farming gacha game with no redeeming qualities. Let’s start a campsite!

  1. I played it for a while but I didn't like the waiting time for the crafting stuff hahah. I also personally didn't really like the layout of the app, it felt like everything was everywhere and I could never find what I was looking for 🤣 But maybe I just didn't play it long enough, generally don't really like mobile games though

  2. I’ve spent nothing on pocket camp 🙂 you can just get free leaf tickets by achievements and events so I like it better this way

  3. I like pocket camp because even though it has gacha elements to it, you don't have to spend money on them to succeed or enjoy the gameplay. Its not like there are competitions that you need the cookie items to win, the cookies are just an optional thing. Personally I prefer to save up my leaf tickets and spend them on the special items in the shop since I know what I'm getting.

  4. I've been playing Pocket Camp on and off since it came out and I have spent the enormous quantity of 0 dollars.
Yes, ZERO, cero, naDA. It's kinda pointless to me lmao, I'm not that into decorating and at the begining of the game (just like in every other gaccha game) you get a fair amount of leaf tickets for free and, if you're a diligent player you'll save enough tickets for whatever upgrade you want.
I mean, the gaccha aspect it's there, but It's not like it's impossible to play without them, they sometimes just make things easier, you miss some good looking outfits and maybe some cool furniture but for me it's all about fishing, catching bugs, doing tasks for the villagers and decorate a bit with the stuff I have.
You play without buying leaf tickets, like, ever, UNLESS, you really like the designing in the Design Academy, then the tickets will definitely make it a whole easier.

  5. before i got new horizons last december, i loved playing pocket camp 🙂 i haven’t spent any money on it at all, i hate when mobile apps do that lol. but i got past level 90 when i stopped playing, tons of dope outfits and decor & i fully upgraded all of my storage, my rv, crafting area& unlocked all of the islands and my cabin & even have all of the villagers i like ready to be invited to my sites on rotation lol, all without paying a penny. so if anyone is worried you might not be able to feel like you “beat” the game without paying, you definitely can play it without paying any money. you just earn it the same way you have to earn money in other games

  6. Is it good? yes. Does it force you to play the way console animal crossing is meant to be played or spend all your hard earned savings? Also yes. As someone with a bit of an AC addiction I don't play it all the time cause it gets dangerous for me between the fortune cookie gatchas and the yearly event exclusives. My main thing in AC has always been decorating my house and town as much as it'll let me in my style. So, having SO MANY options for things in my personal style but that all cost has not been good for me. I really like the game I think it has just enough to do to pick it up once or twice a day and put it down in favor of other things, but it is one heck of a cash grab seeing as almost everything costs leaf tickets and unless you find ways to absolutely grind through the game (without spending any) then you'll be spending money if you want those items. At least the lower amounts of leaf tickets are reasonably priced but 200 leaf tickets doesn't carry you far if you hyperfixate on leveling or are trying really hard to get specific items 😅 At least you can never fully 100% run out of things to do though which is nice. So if I played a little at a time like a normal person it'd be great, but I can't seem to do that so I have to bounce between it and like 3 or 4 other games so I'm not just spending on tons of leaf tickets. As is I am into another gatcha called Twisted Wonderland but I have gotten myself past the addiction of spending on every card since they re-roll and that game is easy to grind through so I often bounce between that and pocket camp as well as just regular animal crossing. It may not have as many options as I'd like without mods but it scratches the designing itch without costing me money…😅

  7. I haven't spent a cent on this game coming from somebody that absolutely loves this game by the way… Patience is the cure LOL no but seriously though I don't know how can people save up many leaf tickets without purchasing any and not just be spending every time they get a few

  8. Okay so first take a breathe and calm down. I have been playing Pocket Camp for 5 years now (since its debut) and never had to spend money on it.
Secondly don't come into it from a New Horizons point of view where EVERYTHING is about specific items and aesthetics for your social media accounts. It's a slow moving game so that you can go about your day and pick it up later …sort of game.
Thirdly stop looking at the game as a gotcha game. The fortune cookies (the gotcha part) is so small in comparison and does not rely heavily on it…. unlike some games I know that are actual gotcha games and require a min of $100 … yes a min of $100 USA to get 1 singular gotcha. Pocket Camp even gives you leaf tickets for free sometimes…
Lastly it does get better with leveling up. You can't expect to get everything all at once. Even in New Horizons you don't start the game with terraforming… no you work your way up to it. Every month brings something new to Pocket Camp with 3… 2 week long events. You can always find a free way to get something just by logins too.

Be patient. Keep Playing. and Stay Calm. Things will get better.

  9. Wow do you play it it disappears from my phone I can't have it?? It's been 1 year since I wanted to play to it and I never saw it

  10. I remember farming our tickets to get Raymond fortune cookies

    (I didn't spend a dime!)

  11. I play pocket camp for a year now, i remember how it was easy to get leaf tickets in the beggining of the game, but after you reach level 50+ it becomes almost impossible to get, since you mostly get for reaching new levels and it takes long to reach another after that.
The game could also use minigames, cuz the events are extremely repetitive.

  12. Honestly I spend zero dollars on leaf tickets like my parents won't even buy me a switch they said when I turn 15 I'm 14 and I'm excited but this is really cute you can also do alot of stuff with bells too but this app should be for 13 or over like let's say your kid uses your phone she downloaded animal Crossing then you find your bank account gone in a second

  13. I think I'm the only person here who got frustrated with not having enough gifts to give lol I even joined the happy helper plan for two months and still didn't earn enough gifts. I'll return to the game if they fix the gift-giving system.

  14. Wow you're really obsessed about the leaf tickets 😅 I don't think there that important 🤔

I absolutely love the game! I'm playing it for a year now and since every month brings new items, it never gets boring 😊 you really don't need to spend Money on it if you don't want to. You get new Items and cookies by the challenges (and sometimes luck in the shop).
Plus I don't think you need everything. I don't think that's the point of the game. It feels way nicer to spend leeftickets for something you're really exited about

  15. Why buy the switch game when u can this one for free? I mean shit it’s just like the actual animal crossing game

  16. ive been playing pocket camp for almost four years now and as much as i like the game, i think the bar for entry was three years ago. the subscription services made everything kinda bloated. still a fun little timesink but its not a game id recommend anyone aside from fans of the main games who won't spend money on the game(or at the very least won't spend money like a genshin player😬).

  17. ive played it for 2+ years now, and i have never bought leaf tickets. there is honestly quite a lot of ways to get leaf tickets by just playing it and completing leaf ticket maps

  18. I thought this app was extremely boring at first but once I actually got into it after my 3rd time reinstalling it, its actually pretty entertaining when you know what your doing.

Crafting is great, specially with events

Amenities and leveling them up helps you level up faster

Camp helper is a pretty cheap subscription, I tried out the free trail because I really needed leaf tickets to get this black cat statue, which could only be obtained via cookie, around spooky month and thinking of keeping the subscription. Goldie is too cute

Hha powder is pretty important for crafting, so is friend powder vut its pretty easy getting friended on there. Plus it gives you something to do and theres never a thing called too much furniture 😉 accumulating quite a collection gives you more variety of decorating so you can kill time whenever you've done requests or daily goals.

    Idk
    I think its neat

  19. i've been playing pocket camp since 2019 and i honestly prefer it over any other animal crossing game
