You know what I would like to see, every once in a while? A Grabless Jump Around as a limited Time Mode. I don't have anything against grabbing, but getting to a timeout in Jump Showdown is one of only two things in this game that gets my heart rate up. I love it. But it almost never happens, due in large part to grabbing. It would be nice, once or twice per season, to get to experience that more often.
Thoughts on grabbing in rounds with slime: I freaking hate it :). Specifically the thing ppl do where they stand at the end of slime climb and grief players.
Anytime I get grieved on Jump Showdown, I always have this initial feeling of rage bottling up inside me, but I quickly calm myself down by telling myself that was just "well played".
I love the Dalek-costume, too! <3 I don't like getting grabbed, but it is a game mechanic, so removing it doesn't feel right. I actually find it pretty funny, if the opponent can fight back, for example in survival rounds. You can go everywhere on the platform and don't need to follow a certain path (hello Slime Climb and Slime Scraper with all the griefers at the end!). You can fight back or go away. No pressure on reaching the finish line before everyone else. In race rounds I find grabbing/griefing unnecessary. There is no real fight and you just lose. It's so random and annoying! In finals with possible timeouts I don't like grabbing, too. In my opinion it shows much more skill to jump perfectly for 5 min. than sabotaging the others, who just make mistakes, because they see you grabbing. (Of course grabbing needs a certain level of skill, but there's not much skill, if the others don't know, how to deal with it.) Best part: Everyone gets a crown. Why not going for a timeout, where everyone is a winner? 🙂
Grabbing yeah! During my first attempt at jump club I got to the final and everyone was just waving emote and very friendly at each other until… An oni from the other side jumped into our platform and grabbed us all. Killed us all and won.
