  1. my first experince was not that good, i died to the lothric knight in lothric castle like 50 times, nearly gave up 😀

  2. First one was Elden ring, then moved on to play dark souls 3 and bloodborne, can’t believe I missed out on this series for so long

  3. I went through the grave yard. Took me a long time to realise that was not the only way to go.

  4. First game was DS2. My Dad bought it with me back when we still were in contact und I played it with my best friend at that time. In the Beginning I didnt even find a way to the Estus Flask playing the game on hard mode. Once I got Estus and a good understanding of the game it became my favorite game of all time in no time. Enjoying PvP, trying all kinds of builds and seeing progess was so nice. After DS2 I bought all the other souls games and to this day I play them!

  5. my first souls game was ds1, got it free on xbox live gold, broke my controller after about an hour and quit. several years later i got the remastered version again and its on of my favourite games now.

  6. I probably would never had started playing souls games unless a friend bought me Elden Ring when it came out. Now I have played almost every souls game there is and done some lvl1 runs as well.

  7. My first game was Bloodborne, and I missed the weapons when I went to the dream… after a month of playing, I had gotten to the big bonfire in Yharnam… using my fists… with no insight. Then I looked around the dream, and found weapons… I felt dumb

  8. My first souls game was great. However I died 13 rimes in the first zone. I managed to end up platinuming it tho

  9. My first souls game was DS Remastered playing with two friends and handing over the controller when one of us died, thus slowing individual progression in skill. Asylum and Undead Burg was okayish but sh*t started to hit the fan in Undead Parish: We didnt manage to open the gate under the dragon, so had to go through the sewers, having to learn the awkward kick against the shield and spear hollows, lureing them to the platform for a proper fight, getting poisoned by the rats without having any moss always backtracking to the Burg bonfire, getting beat up by the hollow soldiers on the main path with the iron boar before learning the "coreography" to defeat every enemy one by one and throwing the alluring skulls into the fire, nearly dying to the hollow ambush in the cellar, getting parried by the Balder knights, of course doing this over and over again dozens of times just to finally die to one of the last three hollow soldiers before the smith bonfire after several hours. HOWEVER, despite all the shouting and desk punching, in this period we learned the "rules" of the game and combat, realized our mistakes and noticeably FELT our progression in skill and as a player. One of the best video game experiences in my life which got me hooked on DS.

  10. I started with DS3 and got too big for my britches cause the first chunk of the game was pretty easy, with every boss going down in a few tries, but then the Abyss Watchers were a hard wall. That boss did me so dirty that I stopped playing for like 3 months and then restarted the game when I did come back

  11. My first Souls game was the original Dark Souls 2 on PS3, which is probably the reason its my favorite lol. Only Elden Ring can beat it for me. Vividly remember needing a whole day just for the Starter Zone. Ruin Sentinels to this day is the boss that took me the longest time to kill (I think 4-5 hours trying nonstop?) And I have beaten every other games + DLC except Sekiro. Good times

  12. My first Souls game was the original Demon Souls. I used the guide that ZeroLenny followed on his channel. I didn't realize at the time how illogical it was, but it worked.

  13. I first played ds1 and, knowing nothing about the game preceded to use the master key to immediately go into blighttown and throw my head into that nightmarish brick wall for a decent 7 hours

  14. My first souls game was DS1. I spent about an hour trying to fight the asylum demon with the broken sword without noticing the door and then quit. It wasn't until a few years later that one of my friends bought the game and asked if I wanted to play co-op with him (which I hadn't even known was an option.) We ended up playing through the whole series together and now its easily one of, if not my favorite game franchise.

  15. My first souls game was Dark Souls Remastered, though I bought it as a cope for not wanting to spend the full price for elden ring when that dropped. I actually knew a bit about DS1 before hopping in, so I never had anything bad happen like trying to fight the asylum demon with just the broken sword. What I didn't know, however, is how the fuck to get to blighttown. I started my first playthrough without the masterkey because I saw a guide that said don't pick it for your first playthrough, so when I eventually hit a wall (both literally and figuratively) and googled "How to get to blighttown", 99% of the guides just told me the masterkey route. I spent like 3 hours going on a marathon around the map tearing my hair out. I found the gaping dragon thinking "fucking finally, this guy HAS to be guarding the door to blighttown", but nope, just gave me the key. Spent another 2 hours looking for the door until I saw the broken gate that I passed by 1000 times. I think I was genuinely the only DS1 who actually wanted to go to blighttown.

  16. My first (and so far only) souls game was Dark souls 3, which i now played throguh at least 3 times. My friend pressured me into buying during a sale, so we both played for our first time, chatting together in discord and getting our asses kicked by gundyr.. golden times

  17. My first experience with a Souls game (so I thought) was watching my cousin scale a mighty beast and plunge a sword into its neck repeatedly, finishing it off. I thought it looked awesome and asked to play it. Somehow he misunderstood, and pointed me in the direction of Dark Souls – specifically 2, which is where I started for some reason. Looking back, I'm pretty sure he was playing Dragon's Dogma, which I ended up playing after looking for something to tide me over after Elden Ring got tiring.
I spent about an hour in DS2 trying to learn how to dodge The Last Giant. I don't think I ever truly evolved beyond that point.

  18. dark souls 1 introduced me to souls. i remember how my father gifted it to me for christmas, both of us having no idea what was ahead of me. during my first hours in the game i mustve collected around 200+ deaths, quitted several times and took breaks for several days. but i was determined, and oh lord did it feel good to finally beat the game after 40+ hours

  19. My first souls game was Sekiro (if that doesn’t count then it was Elden Ring) and all I remember from it is spending 2 days fighting the Demon of Hatred (I think it was called that?) Anyways, after playing Elden Ring and beating it, I still think that Sekiro is the best souls games.

  20. My first souls game was darksouls 3 and I spent 3 hours in Iudex Gundyr. After beating him I fell in love with the game.

  21. my first souls game was dark souls 3, i just found in the internet that this is the "easiest" game. Well it wasn't for me xD

  22. DSR was my first Souls game. I initially thought the catacombs were the only place you could go from Firelink, then discovered the New Londo Ruins, again was destroyed for a while then finally found the Undead Burg. My first major roadblock was the Capra Demon where I finally discovered poise was a thing making me decide to armor up and tank. S tier game series. 6 out of 5 stars

  23. My first soul’s experience was bloodborne, the game was NOT welcoming to me AT ALL but it got me hooked on all the from soft games so I’m grateful 🙂

  24. I begun my adventure with Bloodborne. I was a painful experience at first, but once I got the gist of the mechanics, it was an incredible experience. My love for these games started there

  25. My first souls game was dark souls 3. I was at Pontiff Sulyvahn before I realized that I could dodge through attacks. It, uh…made things easier…

  26. My first experience was bloodborne and I was god awful and spent hours trying to fight gascoine before sending my controller through my wall, then I tried ds3 a week later and broke my headset and almost my monitor on gundyr but after that I got the hang of the game.

  27. My first souls game was bloodborbe,i played it for less than an hour then deleted it i don’t really know why i deleted it but i did and after a month i decided to reinstall it and i loved it.

  28. My first experience withdraw souls was when I died 500 times in fps town, then I quit for a couple months only to return to die another 500 times in the tomb of the giants because I didn’t know there were lanterns in the game

  29. my first game is elden ring, and I know what everyone is gonna think but I’ve been a FAN of the series for some 3 years now. The reason I didn’t start with bloodborne or DS3 like my friends did it’s because I was kinda scared about the difficulty perception of the soulsborne games that mostly everyone has and to feel like a noob gamer for not beating it. But after completing elden ring I gotta say I had a blast playing Elden ring, but it’s not perfect. In many instances I felt like the game was against me with the unfairness of some bosses or just me being new but I persisted and after about 20+ hours I started to see the progress in skill and just got absorbed by the beauty and challenge of the game and not to mention the BIG intricate story that lets us figure it out with good theories. The only complaint might be pvp but miyasaki is doing good with the patches and seems to listen to the community. It would help me to win those 50 dollars to buy bloodborne or DS3 to continue my experience with these beautiful games and maybe start these speedruns when I git gud🥲

  30. My first souls game was demon souls on ps3. Dad bought it and hid it from us until we found it and got in trouble for playing it. I died constantly to the phalanx cuz I sucked so bad when I was a kid

  31. Well, speaking of first runs… I remember my first time on a Souls was in 2018 circa, on Dark Souls Remastered. I was attracted thanks to a friend who literally argued about DS for like 2 hours while in school. So i decided to give it a try and… Well, let's just say I sucked on everything I could act like a Noob at, and uninstalled after trying beating the Gargoyles for an impossible amount of time (maybe days or a week, can't really tell).
Well, after that thrauma i lost contact with the game and got back to it in 2020 during the quarantine and absolutely loved it. Dark Souls is now one of my favourite games of all times.

  32. The first souls game for me was ds2, my aunt had a ps4 and I tried to beat dragon rider as a cleric and thought the healing mericle took his health and gave it to me. Mind you I was like 9. Am 19 now! 10 years more or less.
I also remember somehow going into the first forest area and all the enemies grouped up on me and I though that the devs hated me for playing the game so bad that they loaded more enemies in my game😂😅

  33. My first souls game was bloodborne and I got stuck on bsb then after that I beat every boss first try for some reason

  34. My first souls game was DS3 and I had to take a 2 month hiatus cuz I was so scared to go through the undead village. I kept getting jumpscared by the little hooded Guys and I thought those caged things with arms and legs were terrifying. Legitimately thoughts DS3 was a horror game

  35. Dark Souls 1 was my first experience with a Souls game. It was fucking harsh. I'm used to playing action RPGs without a shield, and so did I with this game. Til I got to Undead Parish, and I had this very real and visceral feeling that if I was in that world, I would want to be using a shield. Not knowing much in the way of story also helped reinforce this immersive feeling wherein I wouldn't know what was going on if I was in that world either. I too would have to piece it together.

It was at this moment that I truly fell in love with Dark Souls 1. One of the greatest games of all time.

  36. My first Souls experience was during a time where I was doing some light modding on my old Xbox 360. I had modded Skyrim saves, online Call Of Duty mods and some other stuff.
I then realized I had Dark Souls 1 from Games With Gold, and decided to mod it.
I spawned at Firelink Shrine, with 99 humanity, a health bar wider than my screen and maxed out stats. I walked around for a bit before making my way to the Undead Burg. I walked up the aquaduct but got pushed off the stairs by one of the undead, instantly dying because I fell off the map.
I promptly uninstalled the game in frustration.

  37. My first was DS3. I had never played a "difficult" game like this series before so I was super intimidated to even start. Luckily, I decided that I would have a lot more fun if I had some of my friends join me. They agreed, and they allowed me to explore while not giving a single spoiler about what was to come. It was one of the most fun experiences of my life, and also helped me make a friend for life. Truly an experience that will stick with me.

  38. My first souls game was Dark Souls 3. Since my pc was really bad back then, I couldn’t play it properly and gave up on Vordt. 4 years later, I platinumed all souls games and beat them all at lowest levels lmao

  39. First Souls Game? DS1, I'm always like "fk that Im uninstalling this sh*t, never playing it again"
Only to install it again on the next day till i finished the damn game

  40. My first game was DS1 when the remaster first released. I got to the Gargoyles and was absolutely stomped. I came back to the game over a year later to see if I'd be more willing to see it through and ended up finishing the rest in just a couple of weeks! One of my favorite games of all time.

  41. Ds1 was agonizing, most definitely a humbling experience that made me remove the game and stash it where the light of day won't ever reach it 🤣… Years later I got tricked into playing the whole series and found myself addicted to the genre and playing nothing except soulsborne games

  42. Dark souls 3 was my first, noticing already about the evolution of these games, it was an awesome transition from raging to learning and then having real fun with the hard games the soulslike games are
