The linear levels and the way things connect is true souls formula. Atleast we all know now open world fromsoft is not what we want it takes away the accomplishment of getting to the next area
The reason people don't like it as much as 1 or 3 is because the world design feels less connected and logical, areas feel visually disparate from eachother, and too many areas and bosses are totally forgettable

What do you think of the tutorial in Dark Souls 2? Here’s my review of Elden Ring’s tutorial: https://youtube.com/shorts/kkHAx6eZl8w?feature=share
The tutorial is just not as memorable and good as ds1 or ds3 for example, as it doesnt even have a boss or more memorable parts.

It's a good game with bad elements. Overall I like it but it's obviously worse than DSI and III
definitely best dark souls.
Played through this game 5 or 6 times and seriously itching to play it again
DS2 is the best DS2 game
