If I were to make a dark souls game it would be a prequel where you play as the furtive pygmy (Manus isn't the furtive pygmy and it is a very fitting blank slate in the centre of everything for a player character to enter into the story since so little is known). The main idea is that you are helping Gwyn in the war against the dragons (perhaps you could pick sides) and it ends with one side winning the war. It could have large battles where you are helping a god take down a dragon that is extremely powerful and at certain points in the story, certain areas could become a warzone with gods fighting dragons. Many bosses and such from the trilogy (like Gwyn, the nameless king – only when he still had a name – and Filianore – but actually awake) would be NPCs (and potentially non-canon optional bosses) and the game would inevitably have quite a different feel to the story and events since the plot is actually happening around you for a change. It wouldn't really be the same as other dark souls games but it would be a really cool game in it's own right and I think that's probably the best way to continue to explore the dark souls universe. Calling it 'Lord Souls' might be fitting since it would be quite a different game and it's a prequel so calling it dark souls 4 (or 5) would be shaky. Still I'd buy it if no one else would. Like, I really want that game.

While this concept is absolutely amazing, I will believe there'd be another Dark Souls game in the same setting when pigs fly. Nothing truthful or beneficial to humanity comes from 4-Chan.
I would love this sort of aquatic, lovecraftian take on the post-flame world, but I doubt it's going to be a thing.

I wouldn't really like a new Dark Souls game every two years if anything maybe one more game to wrap everything up but they already gave it a pretty good ending in Dark Souls 3 I'm just worried about it becoming like The Simpsons personally and I do not want to see Dark Souls sink that low

I like Elden Ring. I don't love it. Compared to what it could have been after DS3, it has poor replay value, a hollow story (imo), abysmal weapon balance, uninteresting magic, and a poorly set up invasion mechanic.
I don't think that this "leak" is true, even by the bare fact that the OP keeps saying EE instead of ER. But I think that ER is not likely to have the kind of legs DS3 had, and we're going to have to have a new Souls game sooner than before. Maybe this time without taking any cues from GRR Martin. Undercooking with too many ingredients seems to be his specialty.
I hope they remaster DS2 for the new consoles instead of making a DS4. DS3 – ringed city was the definitive end of that story for me

I would love a tanamura game, I would hate another Dark Souls. I want to see what Tanamura can do, especially since I'm one of the few who holds DS2 over 3, but I don't want to see DS spat on with another entry because it would give it recognizability.

I'm not sure. The setting and aesthetic sound fantastic, but I feel like it would muck with the integrity of dark souls 3 being the series's ending, plus the gameplay being supposedly 'dark souls 3.5' doesnt gel right with me. It was excusable in elden ring, where the reused animations and mechanics allowed for the development of a vast and beautiful open world which more than made up for it, but in a smaller-scale, linear game I feel like having no major gameplay changes would be a poor choice.

Dark souls is done. The point of ds3 was a farewell to the end of that series. People get so hung up on continuity. Leave that for the soap operas and accept the end of a good story

There is a lot going on in the Dark Souls mythos outside of the regions we've seen already, and a lot to do within them yet. I would be happy if all we had was Elden Ring and a bunch of expansions for 10 years straight.
Miyazaki himself said there will be no more Dark Souls and he never lied to us as far as I know so I do not have any reason to doubt that.
Quite honestly, with Elden Ring we also do not need another Dark Souls as it already is like a spiritual successor

Yeah, imo the Dark Souls series is done. Rumors seem to be that Froms next game will be Armored Core. The next souls game imo will either be Bloodborne 2 or Elden Ring 2.
If it turns out to be true and for what it describes, it could perfectly be some kind of Dark souls sequel/Bloodborne prequel, thus connecting both universes.
And if that's the intention, it actually could be interesting and not completely disrespecting dark souls 3's perfect closure to the DS franchise.

Ds 3.5 or 4 would be nice. Fromsoft games are part of the few games I'll play and watch over and over. Never tire with, but the thing is leaks are meh. I'm content with what we have.

4chan leaks about bloodborne were real. Im into the idea. Like older final fantasy, these games arent as much sequels as different expressions of a formula with recurrent themes, mechanics, and items. Then again, I'm not a ds3 fanboy.
I can't understand why Bloodborne hasn't been released for PC yet… I understand that it's still stuck at 30fps, but that's a quick and easy fix to get it up to 60fps. I recently read somewhere that it would only take like two lines code to get this done. With all the newcomers thanks to Elden Ring, a lot of them are going back to previous titles like Sekiro and Dark Souls remastered… as for me though, I refuse to go out and buy a PS4 just to play Bloodborne.
