  1. Hey everyone – content warning. Chapter 3 of Ultra Despair Girls has content that discusses and dramatizes sexual assault in a way that is not always tactful. We’ll update the comments once we have made it past this part if you have any desire to skip this chapter. Please take care.

  2. *early*! Excited for today! Also smart move for that content warning 😵‍💫

  3. minor spoilers

    Oh god this chapter
Some stuff in this chapter really should've just not been put in
The Kotoko fanservice is really making me sick

  4. Yeah I agree that this game is kind of all over the place, it has some really good moments but also some really, really bad moments. I definitely don’t blame anyone that wants to skip this chapter or even the whole game, it really does go too far sometimes.

  5. You don't have to do my boy Nagito dirty like that, I know its tuned up for comedic exagguration, but what is your problem with Komaeda, he is absolutely the character I was most hyped to see, all the way throughout the game.

  6. For an uh…more upbeat thing here in comparison to all the heavy and dark stuff, I do always find it amusing how Kurokuma is voiced by Genocider's VA, Erin Fitzgerald, just as Shirokuma is voiced by Toko's VA, Amanda Celine Miller.

  7. How Danganronpa treats Kotoko reminds me of how Persona 5 treats Ann.
The game makes it clear that what happened to her was awful and wrong… but then is still gonna sexualize her itself because…?

  8. The tutorial mentioned when the Ball Monokuma's arms and legs are out, knockback does not work on them.

  9. 27:24 for those who don’t get it: this a Dragon Ball reference. He’s basically saying “it’s like if Goku was still just a little monkey boy(fighting armies and putting a rabbit on the moon) and then Raditz(his brother) shows up.

  10. A lot of it was traumatizingly fine… up until the fucking tickling minigame. There was no need for that minigame

  11. Personally don't see the big deal. Sure Kotoko trauma is the most highlighted, but it's whatever. Especially in a game about what bad things adults can do to kids. If you don't like it that's fine, but then you really should have had a problem with the game well before this.

  12. As for me, i find this "fanservesy" moments to be made not as "haha look panties!" but as "hey, do you see how much Kotoko's understanding of sexual content is blurred that she's trying to lash out her trauma on others and often shows her underskirt in a cutesy way, because she's USED to do it that way?"

I thing that this "fanservise" is a way to further show her trauma in more subtle way.

  13. If there hadn't been a need for the actual content warning, I would have said there should have been one for the scrapple segment. 🤢 I'm with Gina–I'll pass on that one.

  14. 37:06 Just in case anyone was confused, this isn't just a Cup Noodle advertisement (I think this game actually came out before FFXV), it's a reference to Kyoko near the end of DR1

  15. It's clear that all of the warriors of hope were abused at this point, but chapter 3 still shocks me with how visceral they are willing to go with it. I do agree that it's not tactful, not at all, but man does it hit home the point of how absolutely awful the tragedy of Kotoko is.

  16. Frustrating its trying to tell them what to do but they won't stop saying it won't tell them what to do to read the part that tells them what they are doing and then they skip it.
Like please FINISH the tutorial being you complain about the tutorial.

  17. They aren't called Iron Maidens. They are called Monokuma Maidens, because they look like Iron Maidens, not because they are iron maidens.
