  1. I don’t mind the extra download as I usually like to buy my Switch games physically. One thing I hate about current disc games is you install the game the same size as a download whereas a Switch game you can save space. And that’s why I keep fighting for a Scarlet Nexus port[and those cutscenes aren’t that demanding compared to Persona 5’s]

  2. the Switch is Awesome, if it had the power Xbox & Sony had Nintendo would be unstoppable .

  3. Switch – runs Witcher 3.
Case closed, Switch can run anything if rescaled and modified properly.

  4. My brother recently gave me his PS4, bit I still intend to buy Persona 5 Royal on the Switch, especially for the portability purpose. I am curious to see how this game will pique my interest, despite my really behind in my gaming.

I am doing some last minute content for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 before tackling the final boss and I can tell you it has been a wonderful, wild ride.

  5. Perhaps Nintendo helped in file compression? Nintendo are the gods of keeping file sizes small. Just look at SM Odyssey and Kirby. Kirby and the Forgotten Land isn't as big as BOTW in terms of scope, but being around 6gb for what was a pretty meaty game in terms of both content and the overall 3D world is just insane.

  6. Lol Oj's my guy " Hey Oj thoughts on the Queen's the death", OJ: "I dont care about the Queen's death that has nothing to do with me" lol Oj allways keep it a buck.

  7. I wonder how it compares to the PS3 version. I don't recall that looking bad due to the art style.

  8. Once I can pre-order? I'll be doing so at my local Gamestop for the PS5/XBSX and Switch versions. I'm excited, it's going to sell gangbusters and I know it. People were wanting this for years and now it's happening.

  9. As I much love and adore Nintendo, Graphics are not exceedingly high quality, but the shitty low audio quality is what really triggers me in pretty much all of my switch games.
And for a game like Nier which the sound tracks are phenomenal…I just don't know (( Fingers crossed))

  10. Time after time when I hear about the file size of Switch games I wonder if any other companies even try to reduce file sizes at all, I mean do they not even care about trying to reduce file sizes at all? They could do their customers a service by trying to reduce them, especially considering they’re trying to move to more digital

  11. I'm more shocked that vinyl albums are still so big.. I'm old I remember in the 90s when those were gathering dust in closets everywhere in favor of Cds…

  12. One thing I think is very true of games on the more powerful consoles (PlayStation, Xbox) is that many times they are not optimized as much as they could bc there is no reason. It is always little Switch that introduces truly creative engineering and optimizations.

Hoping Atlus nails the port bc I am excited to play this game. Looking forward to the reviews — a little weird we can’t preorder the game or see it on the US eshop yet — maybe this is just waiting for a final certification?

    Nier looks so good too!

  13. Not true UK do like the Nintendo brand it's about strong hardware that Nintendo wasn't providing. If Nintendo had stronger hardware it might be difference with sales in the UK

  14. I'm confused with people say things like 'p5r can't run on switch " because we have games like Witcher 3, dying light and Doom that are more taxing then p5 is and they work great on switch.

  15. Now I'm waiting for Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 7 to come to Switch, due to PS5's enormous price increase.

  16. Did anyone else see the Nintendo Switch Pro mention below the Persona 5 memory usage @3:57 ???? wtf is going on …

  17. Most games these days are not compressed at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t see many noticeable sacrifices with this version other than the performance compromises that come with compression. Expect longer load times.

  18. In my eyes, if the switch can handle the sheer scope of Xenoblade 3 it is more than capable of handling P5 Royal lol!

  19. Even if you don't want a separate game card (like me) and want to go digital, Nintendo Switch can now fit up to 2TB SD Cards, so even if it was like a 50-60 GB game it wouldn't have been problematic.

  20. Is it really shocking? Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age was over 40GB on the PS4 IIRC and the later port by Virtuos managed to trim it down to fit all of the content in a 16GB Switch cartridge. Even the Xbox one version was smaller. Time for compression and optimization goes a long way to getting file sizes down.

  21. There's still a vanillaware game we need a port of… Muramasa The Demon Blade. Amazing game that I'd buy that day one, but I am actually stoked about the Grim Grimoire port.

  22. I am willing bet they compressed audio for the Switch version of P5R uncompressed audio can take up a lot of space for example Titanfall 1 the Uncompressed Audio took up a lot of space 35 GB I believe.

  23. I may as well go for GG being I already have a nice little collection of Vanillaware titles.. Finally playing through arguably the best beat em up ever Dragons Crown currently.. They seem to be quite an underrated rpg dev kinda like Level 5

  24. cartridge size doesn't matter for switch games because they could expand the size of the cartridge any time they want. The maximum limit for the NTFS storage is 256 TB, so I doubt any games will max that out. The size of the medium would limit it first, but we have micro sd cards with multiple terabytes.
