I know it’s not Sunday but ENJOY AN EXTRA VID! X
You are just SO fun to watch your reactions to this game, double thumbs up for the extra practice episode, farm them Souls! Again, you amaze with your brilliance, you are practicing where MOST everyone (before rushing the game) does! Good Work! Accomplishment NEVER felt as good than from this first game. You are absolutely NOT lame, you're hair is fine, man who is making you say such things, BAN them! In total I have spent hundreds of hours, learning fundamental techniques, in one might say is the best location in Dark Souls 1, The Undead Burg! It is BIGGER than it looks. Episode three is turning out to the best, SO FAR!!
The balder knights drop the balder side sword (balder swag sword, bss) and it’s my fave weapon in the game. Claymore is great too and can carry you to the end
Your souls drop where you were 5 seconds before you die.
Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to thee the Lovely (and talented) Lady Emma of Catarina 19:01 !!
I find parrying in Dark Souls easier than in Elden Ring
Tip on parry: watch the arm/shoulder, not the weapon. After wind-up, when the arm makes movement towards u, that's ur cue. Also a very important thing is, different shields have different parry timing. U need to account for how long it takes for ur shield to parry also. There is a parry shield too which is one of the smallest and fastest for this. Lots of ppl do it with only hand too. Parry is very timing based so unless u are absolutely confident, better not resort to it as primary strategy. Most ppl dont even try it first playthrough. Backstab and strafe sideways is most used strat, for DS1, safest too
Good luck anyways. Doing great
And bosses and dragons with tails, you can cut the tails off for special loot.
you should put the message "amazing chest ahead" in front of Andre
You found the zwihander and the Claymore.
And have super Lucky Getting a weapon from the black knight! they are undoubtedly very good weapons as well.
Thanks to those weapons I was able to enjoy a lot of darksouls.
And very good at practicing parrys, even though here parrys are made for reaction time than for a few seconds.
Soo.
Entertaining video
You can hold L1 then tap L2 to parry. That allows you to be blocking if you miss the parry. It's a little safer.
sekiro next??????
If you do another one of these episodes maybe you could explore from softs obsession with hiding shit around and under lifts, you never know where it may lead or what items you might find.
You seem to be a pretty good judge of character 👀
Congratulations, you found the claymore. It's one of the most useful weapons and it can carry you through the entire game if you don't want something more exotic.
Yup, Fire Keeper Souls are like the Sacred Tears in Elden Ring but you can only improve your estus at specific places like that person. Don't "use" them in your inventory, just bring them to the NPC like you did.
The giant crow can take you back to the undead asylum, you need to go back there at some point to unlock a hidden area, so uh, please don’t attack it lol
A little tip with the bonfires and humanities without spoiling too much. In the beginning of the game you can "upgrade" the bonfires to 10 estus if you offer a humanity (kindle it) while being in human form. There are some bonfires that are more crucial than others that make be worth the humanities, just saying… You can farm humanities later on if you are running short.
Tip for the Rings of Sacrifice. Do not use them when you have a lot of souls but instead when you’ve LOST a bunch of souls. Put on the ring on your way to your lost souls and should you die on the trek to them they aren’t gone forever. Use them as extra chances to get souls BACK.
Ah, Claymore…the ol' reliable. One of the best weapons in the entire series, perfect for a first playthrough. You can farm the Parish knights for upgrades and parry practice.
Don't kill the NPCs. No matter what some may tell you…
Try ditching some of the armor pieces for faster rolling, until you pump some Endurance (gives both stamina and equip load). Do not level Resistance.
Take note of how many Estus flasks you have after resting at various bonfires…there's a reason behind it.
Black knight greatsword is in my book the best weapon in this game. Have fun with it. Thx for a great episode on this great game.
I'm glad to be a real MVP by watching this 🙂
There are no phantom footsteps, there's always something that's making them, though they might not be that obvious to find.
Solaire is voiced by Daniel Flynn, who also voiced Alfred in Bloodbourne.
Your position is only stored every few seconds so your souls aren't always exactly where you died, it's the same in all the other games too but they might update a little more frequently.
It took me a long time to see the steps going down at Firelink Shrine too, it's a little bit obscured. Or maybe we're both just not very observant? 😉
Just like in Elden Ring, you get 1.5 times your strength when you two-hand, so you only need one more point in strength and two in dexterity to be able to wield the Black Knight Greatsword, as long as you hold it in both hands.
I don't know what cut scene people might have mentioned you missing by running over the bridge, I'm pretty sure you've not missed any so far.
It's great to see you discovering the interconnectedness of the game, it's really unique in the way it does that, and it's a shame there's not been more of that in later games. Some of the legacy dungeons in Elden Ring do have shortcuts but they all seem pretty pointless when you can fast travel whenever you want.
Looking forward to the next one, though I don't think I'll be able to watch it until late next week.
You did well against the ultra greatsword wielding black knight on the tower. You should probably try your luck against the first black knight you saw in the undead burg. He drops greatsword(decent chance) which will carry you throughout the game.
I did not expect to see a new video today, but it was a great one, as always. I enjoyed it.
DS2/3 next? 👀
Fanta, Parry Queen. What a way to see in the weekend.
Me last episode – "Hey you should just spend a few hours practicing how to parry enemies, its tricky but worth doing!"
Emma – Parries the first fucking enemy she tries it on and picks it up instantly…
Giga Queen shit, this series is gonna be a blast to watch!
yes kill that gold armour guy haha 🙂
Black knight greatsword is the equivalent of ds1 on easy mode
That first parry is sooooo satisfying! I felt the joy! Hahahaha! 10/10, would recommend! 😀
2 days early you spoil us 🥰
And immediately I love how Fanta starts today's session by fumbling the stairs 🤭
What a treat not even Sunday woot woot 👌😀
Ahhh I’ve been binging your Bloodborne series and just got to the DLC episode when this dropped. How can I decide between the two?!
The parry Queen Fanta has arrived 😻 I personally really enjoy the expiration & learning how to play in your playthrough's Emma 😎 such a joy to watch hope you weekend is full of happiness and laughter 🙏🫶🙏🌺
Holy moly that's some sweet parrying Emma 😃
Jup it's a basic mechanic but the level of leniency on the parry window is just excellent in this game, and therefor very satisfying.
A usefull thing to note, look at the hand. Parry windows start the moment the attacking hand moves towards you and lasts untill you get hit in the face. If you look back at your practise run you can clearly see where you are early or late, just barely make the parry or are right on the mark. You covered all of those in the first 6 minutes of the video that was cool to see.
You even did a partial parry. That's when you are just a bit early and the attack hits you during the recovery frames of the parry animations. You don't get the full parry effect but partial parries are actually very nice because while there are many attacks that can't be parried, every attack can be partial parried. They reduce damage taken and prevent being staggered or knocked down. An advantage that's a bit corner case but on occasion really usefull.
It’s so great when you get the parry and block perfect. Enemies will fear us! Lol. Enjoyed the Episode! 🤗
Excellent video Emma! You found so many good items and short cuts. The Claymore can carry you through the game. It is that good. The Zweihandr is great too as is the Black Knight sword. Check out the winged spear too.
There is actually more at Firelink for you to find. At the top of the stairs by the lifts you can jump across to the roof. Going up one of the lifts there is a place to jump off. You can also drop down the lift shaft.
You definitely want the residence key and the bottomless box. Talk more with the merchant.
Do not try to kill the Crow! BTW, you picked up a long bow at the end of last episode. Don't use the crossbows, they are shite in the Souls series unlike Elden Ring.
Finally there is something you missed outside the boss room for the Taurus demon.
Watching you explore and seeing you map/connect it all together in your head is great. A lot of veteran Souls players wish they could play the game blind all over again. These videos are like a way to vicariously play the game blind through you. Watching you explore throughout the area is entertaining too.
I see you doing the ladder sliding! Very nice haha.
Those parries were amazing. You gotta admit they are so satisfying to land. So the parry is when you swat their weapon away with your shield. The riposte is when you stab them after the parry. Usually with the big guys you can parry but you can't riposte.
You did very well in the skeleton graveyard. A lot of new players will go there first thing and the skeletons carve them up.
Keep up the great videos!
In Dark Souls (as opposed to Elden Ring) there is a huge penalty to leaving armor slots empty. Game doesn't really tell you this. Also I don't like the scimitar in dark souls because it replaces your kick with a backwards jump/slash style of move 😅
Footsteps: The SFX in the this game are SUPER EXTRA. Never quite get used to it.
Hooray! This cheered me up today and was an unexpected surprise. I'll be watching over the weekend. 🤗
<3 gigachad smithing man!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay extra video, I am so pleased you found the fire keeper, and now you parry like a pro !!!
The hydrophobia is real.
I was here for the MVP only video 😀
Glad you like the Claymore ;]
