Pokemon Sword and Shield sold more than 24 million copies despite the backlash the games got when they announced the removal of around half the National Dex, certain moves, and lackluster animations. Yet despite all of this Sword and Shield are the 2nd best selling games of the entire series so clearly this didnt stop fans from picking them up.
