先日、Geoff Keighley氏がXを通じて謎の像を写したイメージを投稿し、The Game Awardsで発表される何らかのプロモーションではないかと注目を集めていますが、様々な憶測と一部スタジオの大喜利的小ボケが話題となるなか、件の像の邪悪な外観から関係が疑われているCI Gamesが声明を発表。この像とスタジオが全くの無関係であることを明言しました。
これは、この像が今年8月に発表された「Lords of the Fallen II」に関係しているのではないかという憶測から、何故かCI Gamesに多くの批判が寄せられている（端的にとばっちり以外の何者でもない）状況が背景にあるもので、報告を行ったCI GamesのボスMarek Tyminski氏は、像とスタジオが無関係であることを強調した上で、自分たちも像の話題に盛り上がっており、開発チームの皆がフロム・ソフトウェアの何かであることを祈っていると伝えています。
