AMDのCPUラインナップの読み方
All right, let’s talk tech. And today specifically, we’re talking about AMD’s naming process. If you’ve ever looked at a CPU box and wondered what does this all mean? Well, you’re not alone. AMD’s lineup falls under their Ryzen series. And with that, there are multiple tiers that indicate how powerful each processor is. You’ve probably seen Ryzen 5, 7, and 9. Well, those are the main categories. And yes, there was a Ryzen 3, but AMD slowly retired that over time. Now, after that 5, 9, or 7 label, you’re going to get the series number, which is either 9,000 series, 7,000 series, or 5,000 series. We’re currently on the 9,000 series. The next serial numbers basically tell you how high-end the processor is in that generation. So, the higher the number, the more powerful the chip. So, for example, a Ryzen 9 9950 X3D is the latest one, while something like the Ryzen 5 9600 is on the entry level of the same generation. Now, let’s talk about those letters at the end, like X, XT, or 3D. If a chip ends in X, it’s basically the same CPU, but turned to go a little faster. Then there’s the XT, which is just a refined version of the regular X chips. AMD usually releases XT models partway through a generation to squeeze a little extra performance. Then there’s the big one, the 3D. This is AMD’s fancy way of saying we stacked so much cash on top of this thing to make your gaming experience way better. Basically, AMD looked at what slows gaming down, so like memory bottlenecks, and said, “Cool, we just build on going on upwards.” These 3D V cache chips are some of the fastest gaming CPUs you can get in the market right now, but if you want the best possible frame rates, this is where you should be looking. Yes, they will cost you a little bit more, but it’s definitely worth the performance. And that’s it. Hopefully, I’ve explained a little bit more and hopefully you understand the naming process of the AMD CPU lineup. And if you’re interested in getting any of these, they’re all available at Eve Tech.
